Trip Type: Romance Review 1 of 13Who needs Hawaii?
My wife and I spent this past weekend at Terranea and were blown away. The location is spectacular and the ammenities are top notch. Great onsite restaurants and a fantastic 9 hole golf course. We usually go to Hawaii for vacation, but are seriously considering Terranea as an alternative. We live 45 minutes from Terranea and it has all the beauty and tranquility of any Hawaiian island.

Trip Type: Family Review 3 of 13Resort hotel
Property is new with fantastic views of the Pacific. Room was extremely clean and comfortable with a modern, spacious bathroom that included a shower and a separate tub. Our balcony overlooked the ocean and comfortably seated three. Free wireless and they brought a microwave to our room so we could enjoy popcorn and a movie as a family. Grounds were well kept and provided great walking trails and fabulous vistas. Pool personnel were attentive and interacted well with my 9 year old daughter. As a special treat we interacted with a naturalist on hired by the property to help keep sea gulls and pelicans away. She had an European Eagle Owl with her that was an exquisite bird we were able to touch and get our photographs with. Property does have a $25 resort charge and parking fees, but you can self-park next to the building for $5/day which is quite handy.

Trip Type: Romance Review 6 of 13Highly recommend Terranea
We thoroughly enjoyed the spectacular views surrounding Terranea, the winding trails that hugged the shoreline, a very clean, comfortable room, relaxed dining at Nelson's, reading by the pool and ... a surprise appearance offshore - a huge whale! Our only regret was that we weren't able to stay another night due to cost. For us, it was a memorable and special way to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 7 of 13working out the kinks
Beautiful Hotel. Overall, well done. I know they are new and still need to work some things out. We were in one of the Casitas, which was beautiful, about a 5 min walk from the main Hotel. We were going to a wedding and I was in high heels and asked for a golf cart to pick us up. No one showed up. We were late due to this. When we returned from the wedding we had a bad ant problem in the room. A very long ant trail through the closed patio door, along the baseboard, up the leg of the table and all over everything on the table. We called to have a new room(at 1:20 am) and they said they would be right over with a key. We packed up and waited, and waited. We went outside and waited and waited. It was about 25 minutes later security came with a key for the next Casita. I would still recommend the Hotel, due to the fact that everything else was wonderful!

Trip Type: Special Event Review 11 of 13A Beautiful Hide-away!
What a beautiful Resort located right on the ocean! Great staff, comfortable beds, great swimming pools with a slide that kids will love! (mine did!) My only complaints are the mandatory parking fee of 30.00 per day if you bring a car onto the property, & my room was situated over the restaurant, so I heard some noise from there which woke me up earlier than I had wanted.. Oh yeah, the business office was kind of far away too...other than that, A+! (5 stars all the way) I'd stay there again & again!

Trip Type: Special Event Review 12 of 13Wonderful property
This resort is one of the nicest that I have had the opportunity to visit. I was able to take advantage of the promotional incentive that they were offering during the first month of operation. The staff is young, mostly inexperienced - but, were so overly attentive they made up for their lack of experience. They were all helpful. I had a server at one of the restaurants who was so apologetic about the slow service that I finally told her that it was okay and I was just content to look around at the surroundings and enjoy! I accidently left a bottle of wine in the refridgerator, and when I arrived home and remembered, I phoned the Resort and was put through to the Lost and Found/Security department. I told him what I had left, and he assured me that he had it. I was astounded! I would like to say that I would visit this property in the future, but I know that I wouldn't spend the money for the normal rate of the rooms.

Trip Type: Business Review 13 of 13Luxury on the Ocean
This brand new resort strives to meet every criteria of a 5 star hotel and, in most cases, succeeds. The people bend over backwards to help you enjoy your stay at the ocean's edge. Everyone is brand new and of course, there are kinks to work out (slow room makeup). The restaurants are very good, they even have a coffee bar that opens at 6 am (a real plus in my book). This is a place I would stay in forever if I could afford to.
