Trip Type: Family Review 1 of 11Hotel Stay on July 22
I had low expectations as I drove into the parking lot of the Super 8, but once I entered my room I was pleasantly surprised. The room was large and comfortable, with a mini fridge and microwave, plus the expected hair dryer and iron/board. The air conditioner worked really well and cooled down the room quite nicely. I would definitely stay at the Super 8 again.

Even though it's behind the Taco Bell and a car wash, the upgraded towels, clean carpet and prompt make-up service kept me smiling. Pool and hot tub in the parking lot (fenced) were surprisingly nice and well maintained. New management trying to attract a better crowd. Continental breakfast upgraded to include cereal, croissant (!) and various pastries. All-in-all it was a pleasant surprise--and a real benefit to the group of us who needed a very moderate place to stay.

The staff was very helpful and friendly throughout the entire trip. The room was very clean and spacious. The pool was also very clean. We will definatly return if in the area.

The motel is right off highway 8 in a not so good area. The motel is tucked in right behind a gas station and a Taco Bell. There aren't many restaurants or fast food places surrounding the motel. The people in the lobby are wonderful and very helpful, however the room conditions does need improvement. The motel is under renovation so conditions may get better. Great price, but you get what you pay for.

The hotel itself was fine as well as the room, cleanliness and hotel staff. The area of el cajon the hotel was located, however, was not the best. The hotel was DIRECTLY off the highway behind a taco bell and sketchy-looking gas station.
