Dirty, dirty, dirty. Need I say more?

Just adequate-nothing special

The Super 8 at the ocean in Virginia Beach was in a good location, just across the street from the ocean and the boardwalk. There was a nice grocery store only two blocks down (28th Street) where we were able to purchase necessities. The hotel was poorly maintained and the free breakfast was not well stocked. Most mornings the toaster didn't even work and the juice machine was not working. They only cleaned the rooms on the mornings that we requested clean sheets. Very slow, hot elevator.

Spend the extra $30 a night and get a better place

The room itself was okay. The hallways, stairwells, and elevator were smelly and not well maintained. The room had a fridge and sink. The bathroom did not look like it had been cleaned from the previous customers. When we got back we are going to spend the extra money and stay someplace where we're not scared to take off our shoes in the bathroom.

get what u pay for

this is the cheapest hotel in the area that accepts pets. Pool very small, very convenient location. Not dirty but not the cleanest place ive ever stayed. I got what i paid for. Would stay here again.

Worst Experience Ever in Virginia Beach

Beware. We missed my friend's wedding due to our stay at this dump motel. Aside from the state of the hotel which I will review in this posting later, my car was towed from their supposed "overflow parking area" after we were told by the front desk to park in the "overflow parking area behind the dumspter" at check-in. I specifically asked about parking knowing that towing is quite prevalent in Virginia Beach oceanfront area. We found out our car was missing the morning of 1 Aug 09 with wedding gifts in hand as we were standing in the very same space the car was parked the night before. There are no signs. After approaching the front desk personnel, I found out that five other guests had their cars towed as well and for the same reason. I personally spoke with two other guests who suffered the same experience. One couple and a family with small children. Aristocat Towing Service towed my car to their to their lot on 17th Street eventhough I had a huge Super 8 Motel parking tag on my rear view mirror, as did the other cars from the other guests that were towed. I paid $125.00 cash to retrieve my particular car after having to get a taxi to the towing lot. The motel clearly does not have enough parking spaces for thir guests eventhough it is advertised as such. Now a review of the interior of the motel and my room. The motel needs a complete overhaul. The breakfast offering was available, however, we attempted to get coffee and realized the coffee machine was not working, nor the toaster. I approached the front desk attendant to inform her of the problem. She told me that the coffee machine and toaster trip the electric circuit as she opened a nearby closed where the electric circuit box was located and flipped the switch! She then gingerly went back to the front desk while I stood there, stunned at what I had just witnessed. The carpets are disgusting. The whole place smells bad and mildew/mild is prevalent. Extremely Unsatisfied

Unfortunately this was the dirtiest hotel I have ever stayed at. The tub dripped continuously. Bath light globes were filthy. Dirt and grim build up on the baseboards, bath sink counter, tub, tile, and more. Bath door had a large crack down the right side of the handle that is almost completely severed. Carpet was dirty and had holes. No ironing board or iron. When I called the desk they didn't know where the board had gone and would track down the iron and call me back. By 11:30 pm I still hadn't heard anything. Wall paper was dirty and peeling. Stairwell smelled terribly and was litered with trash. Hallways smelled like mildew. Air conditioner filters were filthy. I had to remove them so the room would cool. Not enough lighting in room. Shower went from hot to cold when others flushed the commode. Clothing rod plastic cover had pieces missing. Room felt dirty. One coat of paint on door trim and shelf. Looked very unfinished and unprofessional. I was so disappointed with this hotel. I would not recommend it to anyone.

Good location but needs improvement

The location is wonderful because is only one block to the beach so you don't have to drive to go there. If you are single, or with out childrens and are looking for a hotel only with good beds to sleep this is a good option, but if you are looking for a comfortable hotel, clean and nice that you feel secure with your childrens this is not a good option.

Not Worth The Money

The only positive thing about this hotel is its proximity to the beach. The front lobby is shabby to match the attitude of the staff. Hotel guests urinated in the stairwell, and it was not cleaned up. It eventually evaporated. Opened bottles of beer and liquor were in the refridgerator when we checked in. The shower tub was dirty causing us to shower in cheap flip flops. The water pressure was weak, and the water temperature fluctuated significantly. We seldom enjoyed a warm shower (notice I didn't say a "hot" shower). The hotel staff was not helpful. We requested an iron all three days of our stay and never received one. The staff didn't know where any of their irons were. Housekeeping did not come the first day of our stay despite our requests, and we had to make several requests before housekeeping serviced our room the third day of our stay. This hotel is atrocious, poorly managed, and not worth the money. Next time I'll stay further from the beach if it means my hotel room will be worth the money.

"Needs Improvement" is an understatment.

The refrigerator still had trash from the previous guests. There were burn holes in the blankets. The elevator was broken and we NEVER saw anyone working on it. Remote needed batteries, I asked for them...never got them. Horrible smells. The list goes on and on.

Great Location

This Super 8 is in an excellent location and could be nice with some much needed repairs. Such as the ceiling falling down in the bathroom of the room next to ours. Other than that, great hotel for the money.

Worst Motel I have ever spend a night

None of the essentials at this motel work 1) Parking is a problem, many room mates where fighting for parking 2) Water from the shower hardly had any force. Practically you can say no shower 3) I had a room on 6th floor and out of 3 days and 2 nights, the elevator was broken for 2 days and 2 nights 4) No room service. Really... no room service

Needs Improvement!

The guy behind the front desk was excellent. our room(s), however, it's a long story. The 1st room we were given was locked by the security lock from the inside, impossible to do from the outside of the door. the 2nd room has barely furnished, no bedding, no shower curtain, no tv, and smelled as though it had been painted that day. The 3rd and final room didn't have the microwave (which at that point didn't matter anymore), and they're was a sharp razor blade on the bed, carpet staples everywhere and screws. I had a 7 year old and a 5 year old with me, that could have really hurt them had I not saw that.
