Super 8 Motel - Cromwell/Middletown

Great value

The motel was clean, the staff were friendly, and everything worked. There was wireless for my laptop and a computer in the lobby hooked up to a printer in the office, allowing me to print my boarding passes. A simple breakfast was available with juices, coffee, hot and cold cereals, and some inexpensive pastries. If you were go to a restaurant in search of something more extravagant, you would still come out well ahead, given the low price. The hotel is surrounded by forest. Though the freeway is nearby I did not find it bothersome, particularly since the traffic subsides at night. It was a convenient drive to the Wesleyan University campus -- basically a straight drive with two right turns -- and just as easy to return. There's no frills, but you aren't paying for them either, and what you get is exactly what you'd wish for at that price.

Worth the Cost

On the bad side, the hotel's corridors especially the stairwells needed cleaning. On the good side, the woman in charge Sunday morning did a yeoman's job in good spirits. She took care of the breakfast bar keeping it clean and resupplied all the while checking out customers and answering the phone. She did it all and kept everyone happy. I wish I had gotten her name. She deserves a commendation.

Ok but bed made up for it!

Walk in the room and find the same put together furniture and think great. I look at the TV to find it tilted to the right and think....great. Well the bed made up for it and to me that makes up for alot and with that I would stay there again.

great value

room was a comfortable size. only drawback was that my room backed up to the interstate and you could hear the traffic, muffled though it was. continental breakfast, only complaint was the orange juice was almost all water the two days i tried it.

Covers the Basics

From all the other reviews on here I thought the hotel would be above average despite the price. But, its not. It meets the basic needs of being a clean place to stay. The bed was subpar and the blankets looked ancient and like they haven't been washed so I just used the sheets. The decor is old but clean. Skip the free breakfast if I were you. If you are driving through it is right off the highway which is nice. But, keep you expectations low and you won't be disappointed!

Needs Improvement

I was satified overall, only one complaint the side doors are never locked.(don't need a pass key to get in.
