Super 8 Dunbar Charleston Area

Good stay

We needed a place to "rest our heads" before heading out early the next morning. Exactly what we needed-older hotel but clean; Kroger, Dollar Store, and Wendy's in same parking lot. Rigtht off the interstate. For the price you couldn't beat it. Would stay there again.

Stay

This hotel was cozy, quiet & clean. I stayed for a week. The breakfast needs improvment.

Get what you pay for

Arriving on a Friday night, everything was fine. At nine o'clock Saturday morning there was a man literally drilling holes into the wall outside our room putting up skirting. Guess it was time for us to start our day! Went to the continental breakfast shortly after the drilling started. Lucky we went then, cause at 9:30 the breakfast bar was shut down.

Friendly and Expedient Staff

The staff was a friendly and worked with effectively at check-in to dispense keys and internet information. They do a great job restocking items that are used from the day before. They were exceptional. Marie

Pleasant Stay

I stayed in the Super 8 five days and was pleasantly surprised with my room and accomodations for the price!! The staff is wonderful; I would definitely recommend the Super 8.

Terrible Experience

Check-in Time is 3:00, yet my room was not ready until 5:00 because it had not been cleaned yet and the desk clerk did not even offer an apology; Bathroom was not cleaned very well at all; Housekeeping did not even clean our room during our stay and we had to go to the front desk to get clean towels. The staff claimed that we had a "do not disturb" sign on the door was was false; Bags of trash sat outside the hotel door for 2 days; Positively the WORST hotel experience I have ever had.

Neds Improvement

First room had not even been cleaned-bed unmade, towels on floor in bathroom etc. Second room was supposed to be non smoking. It reaked of smoke and was 90 degrees. Third room (and only one left) had 2 double beds vs 1 king reserved. No TV remote in room; young lady at the desk brought us one. Lod noises in the middle of the night. Will not be using Super 8 again. The savings is not worth the hassle.
