Trip Type: Special Event Review 1 of 15Please don't waste your money
This place is a totally ghetto, broken down, old, smelly hotel. I picked it because I was in town for a weekend wedding and I didn't want to spend the ridiculous money that the Comfort Inn and the Holiday Inn were asking for in Alamosa, but now I know better. The picture on this site doesn't look bad, but this place is a roach motel. Our room was dirty (unvacuumed floors) and ugly, and we had a lovely view of the McDonald's 24-hour drive-thru. The bathroom in this room was atrocious-- I found "nether region" hair on the bathroom floor behind the door, where no one had cleaned in a while. There was hair all over the shower and the curtain was moldy. The shower/tub floor was brown, which I'm pretty sure could be cured with some bleach and a little elbow grease. There were unpatched holes in the bathroom where they had removed the old shower curtain (and they weren't small, unnoticeable holes). The door to our room was difficult to close, which seemed like a safety issue to me. The room carpets were dirty and sticky feeling. The housekeepers never replaced our towels/washcloths, so we had to go down to the front desk and request them ALL THREE DAYS. I mean, forgetting once is fine, but three days in a row is a bit much. In addition, the housekeepers don't wait to open your door, they just knock and immediately open, and that happened once when my husband and I were in our room changing clothes, so they got a good eyeful. I will never, ever, ever, ever in a million years stay at this place again. It was disgusting and dirty and ugly and run-down and ill-maintained. They made me pay for all 3 days up front, and now I see why, or I would have just changed hotels after the first night. AVOID THIS DUMP LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 2 of 15Needs a good scrubbing
The hotel was ratty. There were holes in the walls, the toilet and tub looked like they hadn't been cleaned in a very long time, there was a used towel hanging on the back of the door and someone else's trash in the shower. I showered in my flip flops. Pillows were lumpy. Upon checkout the management gave us a discounted price because of the condition. On the plus side, the hotel was packed and still it was very quiet.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 4 of 15Good Room, Considering....
There is not a lot to do in Alamosa in the summertime. We stayed here as a stopover, for visiting the Great Sand Dunes National Park, the following morning. Prior to booking this Super 8, I did a little research, and found the rates in Alamosa to be a bit on the high side for what the area has to offer. Notwithstanding, this looked like the best bet for the buck. The only cheaper motel we found (from Hotels.com) didn't look like a "bargain," upon perusing the reviews. In a nutshell, you won't find a "luxury suite" in a Super 8. Yet, this one was clean, comfortable, and overall nice. The indoor swimming pool was small and dismal. The kids love a pool, but did not even express a desire to enter this oversized bathtub. But, again, it was only for a night. Aside from the pool concept, we enjoyed our rooms. Fast food and gas stations were convenient (next door) to the location, and we all awoke--refreshed--for a trip to the Sand Dunes, following morning.

Very spartan room with lumpy pillows.

I liked the power outlets in front of each space. I have a diesel and it needed to be plugged in.

Proprietor very hospitable, much more personal atmosphere than I would have expected from a Super 8.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 13 of 15Needs improvement
The area to eat breakfast in was not very large. It only had 3 tables. Not enough for that large a hotel. Also did not appreciate a bust by the police at 3 in the morning to the room next door. It was next door to our son and it was very hard for them to sleep.
