    This was the fifth time I have stayed at the Stella Maris in Hamburg over the past 4 years. The staff are very efficient and pleasant, not to mention helpful. The rooms are basic, but comfortable and well worth the price. The hotel is in a neighborhood that is walking distance from the underground and right next to the Hamburg Harbor. The nearest underground to the hotel is only 3 or 4 stops from the city center and the walking street. This is extremely convenient. Additionally, from the hotel it is a quick taxi ride up to the Hamburg Messe (exhibition and conference center). It is a typical European family/business hotel. Currently, there is no room service and the restaurant serves a traditional cold breakfast buffet of muesli, yogurt, fruit, etc. Over the past 8 years I have been to Hamburg frequently and stayed in various hotels. Upon my discovery of the Stella Maris 4 years ago they have had my repeated business every time I have been in Hamburg. If my business takes me to Hamburg again, I will be staying at this hotel. Based upon the US dollar and Euro I consider this a travel find.
