    Customer Service at the front desk needs to improve. Only one person doing check in while the other employees sat around or went in the back seeing five of us waiting in the line to check out. I was standing in the line at least 15 minutes.

    We loved the St. Kitts Marriott the first day we were there but on our second day demolition started on a building right next to the building our room was in. For 3 days we were awakened by the demolition. We asked 3 different times to be moved to another room but were told the hotel was full. We found that hard to believe as the hotel pool and restaurants were not full of people. The demolition ruined our stay as it was so loud and we were unable to go out on our balcony due to all the dust. We were disappointed in the Marriott for not moving us to another room.

Location. St. Kitts Marriott Resort & The Royal Beach Casino St. Kitts stands along the surf-swept sand of Basseterre on the island of St. Kitts. The St. Kitts Scenic Train depot and the ferry dock are located less than four miles from the hotel.

Hotel Features. Eight restaurants and bars attract attention at this Marriott resort. Northern Italian cuisine tempts palates at La Cucina, while grilled fare draws patrons to Royal Grille Steakhouse. The Keys Cigar Bar hosts live entertainment while guests choose from a selection of Cuban, Honduran and Dominican Republic cigars, and aged rums. This resort contains a business center, multi-function rooms and offers dial-up Internet access. Recreation includes a 40,000- square-foot casino, a 15,000-square-foot health-and-beauty spa and an expansive fitness center. The spa features couples suites and jetted tubs, and offers hydrotherapy, massage, facials, and hair and nail care. The fitness center houses cardio and weight machines. Tae Bo, yoga and complimentary calisthenics sessions are conducted on the beach. Supervised programs cater to children ages 4-12 and offer indoor craft and outdoor play activities. Four lighted tennis courts, two shuffleboard courts, beach and pool volleyball nets, and three outdoor freeform pools, one with basketball hoops, add to this resort's appeal. The resort's 18-hole championship golf course opened in 2004.

Guestrooms. This property features 648 air- conditioned guestrooms located in the five-story Frigate Bay House with elevators. The 19, three-story buildings do not contain elevators. Balconies and patios offer views of the pool, golf course and mountains. Room décor features pale-salmon walls with crown molding, tile floors and antiqued, caramel-toned furnishings. Beds are triple sheeted and topped with down comforters designed in brightly hued floral patterns.

Expert Tip. The resort offers complimentary shuttle service to a calm Caribbean Sea beach located one mile away, where a water-sports center rents a variety of seaworthy equipment.
