Trip Type: Not Provided Review 31 of 237Great location with bathrooms in great need of improvements
Great location- and despite being only 1/2 block from Bourbon Street it's very quiet! Rooms are fine, AC excellent, almost too cold, but the bathrooms needs be fixed. Turning on/off the shower faucet made handles come off! The tile floor needs a real cleaning, not just a quick whip. There are better and cheaper hotels by Canal Street but for this location this is a great value. A little dirt one can live with!

Trip Type: Romance Review 34 of 237Southern Hospitality
Working in the hospitality industry in NYC the past 6 years, upon my arrival I was immediately fond of how friendly and warm the people of New Orleans are. It's not cheesy at all, and comes across as completely earnest . . . As soon as I arrived at the hotel, however, I was brought back to reality. The clerk was on the cold side, even with myself making an effort to be polite. I wouldn't expect that sort of treatment at any hotel, anywhere. I've worked the front desk a few years myself, and I know we all have bad days in which it's harder to put on a smile, but the treatment continued throughout my stay. Overall, this hotel provides a great value for the location. It's nothing fancy and the property is a bit run down. My last morning the gentleman working the desk was cordial and helpful, which was funny because that sort of treatment is something I'd have preferred throughout my stay but only received upon my departure.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 35 of 237Rude staff, needs major improvement
Upon arriving to the hotel the receptionist was rude and short with me, she demanded my debit card, and then acted as if I were stupid for not assuming that she also needed my ID. She was not friendly or welcoming at all and offered no additional information. When I called earlier in the to inquire about check in times and valet parking I was told that self parking was $15 and valet was $30, I arrived Saturday morning, running late for a bridal shower and was then told that self parking was $25 on weekends, so had to accept. There were huge cracks in the walls, all of the lamp shades were broken, the shower barely worked. The next morning I woke up to someone beating on my door, it was housekeeping asking me if I was going to check out soon... This was at 9 am, checkout was not until 12 pm. I took a shower and then realized that the hair dryer was broken. I called the front desk and asked for a new one and was told that housekeeping would bring one to me shortly. While waiting I realized that the toilet also was not working. Around 10:30 am I heard beating on my door again, before I could get there, the housekeeping lady let herself into my room and asked me again if I would be checking out soon!!! I finally gave up on my hair dryer, gathered my things and headed out the door. About halfway down the hall I ran into the housekeeping lady again, sitting on a bed in an empty room watching tv, she then yelled to me one more time "are you checking out now?" i didn't answer. Instead of bringing me a hair dryer, this is what she was doing. I intended on complaining to the front staff, but when I realized that it was the same rude woman from the day before I did not. She told me my remaining balance and asked for my debit card. I was a little confused about the additional fees, and when I asked she rudely told me that I had booked through a 3rd party and that was all the information she could give. I am a local, I will never suggest this hotel to any visitors. If you're loo

Trip Type: With Friends Review 36 of 237Great Location, Needs Improvement
Location is great, which is what I was going for, however I was very displeased with the customer service staff that was working during my stay. There were fees that were not mentioned in the hotel booking (Amenity Fees per day-which I didn't even use, but still charged for them), parking was over priced and not mentioned in the hotel booking as well ($15 and $25 per day) When I questioned these excess charges when I checked out the staff was rude and didn't want to explain these extra charges.

We arrived... we were gonna valet park.... noone to be found... we were told we could park illegal... and hope they wouldn't tow. Went in.... not to friendly.... realized we had more fee's for the hotel... i know they have it posted on the desk... but when we booked... never was an extra fee posted. I decided on this hotel.... so we could have the pool..... didn't stay at our friends hotel because they didn't have a pool... Checked in... and a big sign stating that the pool was closed for a private function til after hours! Our first room... the air did not work.... and hair was all over the bathroom floor and tub.... Called down... struggled to get another room.... because her words... (they are OVER booked) it was cooler... and a bit cleaner... but still run down really bad... that night coming in.. the front desk clerk was nice and stay outside with us until a valet driver came to get our car... cause it would of been towed. I would suggest that before you book... you should see and be told of all the fee's Personally... never will i stay there again. Again... just check it out....

The hotel added a $25 fee for NOT parking (it would have been $50 if you did park a vehicle) and a $12.75 charge for "service". These charges were not reflected in the listing on Hotels.com. This false advertising prevented me from making a fair decision while comparing other competitors. This dishonesty is enough for me to not choose St Ann Marie Antoinette in the future.

Trip Type: Business Review 39 of 237Would MAYBE recommend...
Interesting that you have to pay an extra service fee that covers wi-fi access, yet sites like myspace or facebook are blocked. As a travelling musician who uses such sites to keep in touch with fans, that was quite lame. Also, no smoking anywhere inside the hotel, yet there were balconies on every floor that were locked. Also lame. Other than that, the rooms were decent (could have used a small fridge and such), the bed was crazy comfortable, the AC was awesome.... I wish I had the option to say "maybe" I'd recommend this hotel. It was "okay" for the price and all the extra fees hotels always gouge people with.

Trip Type: Romance Review 43 of 237Great Hotel
We read many bad reviews about this hotel and we were worried about the quality of the hotel, but upon arrival realized that it was a very nice hotel. The service was great the bartender Lisa was excellent and we were extremely satisfied and the only problem I had was that I needed to change the key to the room a couple of times. Other than that we were extremely satisfied. On a different note a great place to eat is Ali Baba on St. Peter Mohammed serves great gyros and if you are looking for a fine dining restaurant go to Maximos on Decataur it is excellent.

Trip Type: Romance Review 44 of 237Good Hotel!
The stay was enjoyable and pleasant. The rates were great! We found a mouse in our room, which was surprising. We notified the front desk and they offered to move us to another room. It didn't bother me, but I was surprised to see a little mouse in our room being that the hotel appeared to look nice and clean.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 45 of 237Leaves a lot to be desired.
Location is fantastic, if you plan to wander Bourbon St. Despite it's smack-dab-in-the-middle location, the room was quiet. However, very dark entry, dreary atmosphere, sub-par rooms (beds weren't comfy, smelled damp and mildewy), front-desk employee was unpleasant - they also charge extra unavoidable amenity fees. All in all, an 'ok' place to rest your head - if it weren't for the location, I wouldn't recommend it at all.
