Trip Type: Rest and Recreation Review 16 of 237Hotel in Major Disrepair
I turned on my room lights and a bulb immediately burned out. I was there 5 nights and it was not replaced. The bathroom walls had holes from old mirrors and the paint was cracking. The ceiling was warped from water damaged. To make the situation worse once I checked out they charged almost $100 extra for breakfast, the newspaper and internet - none of which I used or realized I would be paying for!

Upon arrival at the St. Ann we were met with confusion. There was no one to greet us at the door; we had no idea where to park, etc. I parked on the left side of the street and walked in to register. The customer service rep was rude, and not helpful. She explained I could pay a large amount for valet parking or I could park two blocks down the street and bring our luggage back and check in. She gave us no instructions other than sign here and here and here and here's your key and parking ticket. Blah! When we arrived in the room, there was one lamp with a 60 watt light bulb working and the bathroom light, no other lighting. There was a lamp not working and the condition of the furniture, TV and the bathroom were so nasty (pure and simple) small, cheap, disgusting! I guess I got what I paid for, I paid more for the overnight parking than the room and it was the worst part of our trip.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 19 of 237Right where the action is ...
The St Anne Marie is moderately priced and is located between Bourbon St and Royal St right in the heart of the upper Quarter at the Canal St end. The hotel has a cute brick courtyard with a tiny pool and fountain and lots of tropical plants. That is about the extent of the amenities. The bar is OK. They only offer coffee and a breakfast bun in the mornings. There is no lobby to speak of, just a foyer with a check-in counter. Service was polite but I was not demanding, either. Furnishings have been well used and show it. The room and bath will be typical Quarter - just a little on the seedy side :-) Expect minor inconveniences. You will pay a service fee in addition to your hotels.com rate. I forked over an additional $45 but that included parking in the Iberville St Central Parking garage (400 block) for one night. Even including the service fee the rate is low for a hotel located so well. This might just be the best value on the strip. Bourbon St is noisy all night so bring earplugs if you need your rest. If you are a demanding traveler looking for creature comforts and a quiet rest look elsewhere. On the other hand, if you're on a budget but you want to be where the action is this is the perfect romantic hotel for a young couple or a pair of college students. Have fun!

It was a case of bad turn to worse. When we arrived, I realized I had booked the wrong Hotel. I meant to book the St. Marie, where we had stayed previously. There is no comparison between the two. There is no where to park to load or unload bags. The vallet is four blocks away. If it is raining.....Oh well! The pool was nasty, so swimming was out. I needed an iron before we could go to breakfast. It took 3 phone calls and 45 min to get one. When we got downstairs to the breakfast room, we were told it was too late, and they were picking it all up. This was my worst hotel stay ever. The ladies at the front desk acted very put out by their jobs!!I can only say the bartender made our drinks good and she sported the only friendly attitude at the place.Never again!!

The Hotel is old; but in good shape for it's age. The staff were easy to deal with. The location was my main reason for this Hotel. My door key was a pain; but I'm not a complainer. The Courtyard was nice and enjoyable.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 23 of 237Not Bad for the money and location
The hotel had a great location. It’s one block form Bourbon street. There were problems with both rooms but they were taken care of by the staff. The staff wasn’t overly friendly but respectful and effective. The hotel could use some updating. Don’t forget about the “energy surcharge”. They should just include this with the room rate to prevent confusion. Bottom line: If you need a cheap room to crash after a long night on Bourbon street this hotel will do you just fine

I was a disappointed to find out when I checked out that there was a $5 a day energy charge and $7 a day ammentity charge. These charges should be included in the hotel charge so people can make informed decisions.

This hotel is about the lowest priced in the French Quarter. I did not have great expectations so I was not disappointed. I did spend little time in the room so no big deal. My biggest complaint is the room was near the elevator and the closing doors were very loud through the night. Luckily I travel with ear plugs.

For an older property in the quarter, this place is FINE! It's extemely convenient to everything in the quarter. Parking was non-existent, they say they have it, but what they mean is it's 3 blocks away and costs $33 per day with some other exorbitant cost if you want in/out priveledges. We luckily found a spot on the street, but don't let the lack of parking scare you away from this place. Park anywhere you can find for cheaper than $33 and walk yourself and your bags to this place.

Required to pay a 12.83 service fee. It was only useful if you used the hotel bar or restaurant. Elevator was noisy and irratic. Furniture in room was chipped and marred. Little to no hot water.
