Trip Type: Family Review 2 of 97Great room in off season
We rented a one bedroom unit, full kitchen for 5 days at the end of September. It was a first floor unit. The unit had a micro wave, but no oven. There is no air conditioning but the windows open for air flow, not a major issue this time of year. It was very quiet and its about a 5 - 10 minute drive from Lake Tahoe. The service was great and this was one of our best vacations. We highly recommend the facility.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 3 of 97Unexpectedly Very Nice
We really enjoyed our stay in Squaw Valley and wish we could have stayed a little longer as we were just passing through on this trip. The room was great and really felt like a real apartment with most of the comforts of home. Although it was not the hotel's fault, it would have been nice to know that the tram was not operating as it was down for maintenance and that a few other shops and restaurants were open on a limited basis.

Trip Type: Romance Review 4 of 97Terrific in the off-season
We got a great deal, and spent our first anniversary in a studio-condo. It was great to have a mini-kitchen to make breakfast, and for other meals, there were numerous bars and restaurants open until late nearby in the adjacent Village at Squaw Valley (or something like that). The pool was great, the hot tub could have been warmer, but hey, it was still in the 70's the whole weekend. Staff was friendly, and we got a late check out on Sunday for a lazy last day before heading home.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 7 of 97Wonderful resort in beautiful Tahoe.
I would highly recommend this hotel, especially their Swedish massage (one of the best massages I've ever gotten). It's convenient to get to, and in a gorgeous part of Tahoe. Our room was very nice and clean.

Trip Type: Family Review 8 of 97Plan for activities...
We went to the Squaw Valley (Olyimpic Valley) Lodge in mid August. I say this because it is important to keep this in mind if thinking of traveling to this location. There were 3 adults and a 19 month old on our trip. The Lodge itself is wonderful, the rooms are privately owned and are kept in great condition. There is not a bad view in the place, however, do not waste your time looking out the windows. This area is more for the outdoors/activity based vacation rather than a hangout and veg crowd. You are about 5 minutes from Tahoe City and next to the Lodge is another resort that has a lot of shops and resturants. The hiking trails are wonderful, the water is warm, and there is an infinite supply of pinicing areas. It was a great trip. One word of warning though, all of the resorst/hotels in the skiing area do not, i repeat, DO NOT have A/C. They are for skiing more than hiking, so that should be considered.

Trip Type: Family Review 9 of 97Great Location for a great price
We first checked into a room that smelled like a pet or smoker had been living in, but changed rooms with no hassle. We were very happy with the location, as I knew nothing about the area. The pool and other amenities were great.

Trip Type: Family Review 10 of 97Great Family Getaway
I just love staying in a condo rather than a traditional hotel room. There is more privacy and more room. It is also great to have a galley kitchen so we don't always have to go out to eat, especially breakfast. The kids loved the pool and the fact that there were 5 hottubs, some indoors and some out. There was a good workout room as well as steam and sauna if one is so inclined. Squaw Valley location is wonderful- can walk to the Village or drive 10 minutes to the Lake. We had a great family weekend and I would definitely stay here again.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 11 of 97Nice Place for Family
This was a great place to stay ith out kids. There was a maintenance issue as the tack strip form the carpet was exposed and my kid cut her foot. But we ran into a very freindly maintenance guy who fixed it on the spot. the staff was freindly except for the one guy at the front who seemed to busy to care. Overall this was a great place to stay.

Trip Type: Family Review 12 of 97Noisy hotel that books parties
The room itself was fine. The kitchenette is a great convenience and housekeeping is adequate, although certainly not stellar as they would sometimes come at 8:30 am or not come until 5:00 pm. The service is pretty bad. Our room faced the pool and the hotel booked a pool-side party that lasted 6 hours with live entertainment. The pool is small, but for some reason, the entertainer had to have a microphone and speakers. We have an infant who was not able to nap or sleep until after the party was over. When I asked to change rooms, they told me the hotel was fully booked. They didn't apologize. In fact, one of ladies tried to argue with me about the time the party ended. I never raised my voice and tried to take it all in stride. We decided to stay the full week and the last night of our stay, a reggae concert that ended at midnight kept our baby up again. The reggae concert was in the Squaw village at the bar which was very close to our room. So, overall, the hotel basically isn't a relaxing place to stay if they decide to book parties or if there are concerts in the village. The staff seemed fairly blase and borderline rude. They seemed very unprofessional and confrontational. I don't think I will stay here again.

Trip Type: Romance Review 13 of 97Great room value
Great location, convenient, spacious rooms , family friendly hotel. Definitely great stay when you are on a budget. I enjoyed our stay here. But I have few minor complaints. The bed is not very comfortable. We stayed on the first floor with a great view of the mountain scenery but comes with little privacy. Also, the bed is not very comfortable. Our AC wasn't working either. Overall, it's a great place to stay if you are looking into budget friendly hotel.
