Trip Type: Business Review 17 of 3200Just right for the money
Although a little further out then I expected I liked the quietness of not being right in the middle of the strip. Really liked the fact that I didn't hear sirens or people in the hallway all night. Enjoyed the breakfast buffet. The night time atmosphere in the casino was more relaxed than most, made it more comfortable to hang out in. Staff was great and always there to say hi or answer questions. Would most definitely recommend this hotel!!!

I like to play slots but the ones here didn't like to be played just sucked your money in and returned poor play qualiteyo. Grab a cab and go somewhere else to play slots. The hotel itself was very nice.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 19 of 3200A little out of town...
We went to celebrate my daughter's 21st and since I paid for her hotel on the strip - I saved a little money here. Found it to be a little inconvenient to drive to the strip and find parking. VERY hard to get any "free drinks" in the casino since the waitresses seemed to be literally running through and rather quietly asking for drink orders...I never did catch one - pretty irritating.

Trip Type: Family Review 22 of 3200Grand stay
We traveled for one month and of all the hotels we stayed at this was the most comfortable. the beds were great and the room was spacious. I loved the dressing area in the bath room since it was seperate from the shower. One person could be in the shower and the other could be getting dressed in a seperate space. The staff was great and the room was always cleaned with plenty of fresh towels each day.The only draw back was having to walk through the casino to get to our room. My daughter is allergic to smoke and there was no way to avoid it. The room however never had a smoke smell and that is way I choose this hotel becuase the reviewed never mentioned smoke in the rooms. The distance from the strip is a bit far but not impossiable.I would stay here again. We found the price of the buffet a bit high and that was the case for all of Las Vegas. It is not a cheap place to eat like it used to be years ago.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 25 of 3200South Point Hotel Review
This hotel has its good points and has its not so good points. To the good points: Movie Theaters-plenty of screens, great pricing for seniors, new releases, what more can a person ask for? Bowling-a large bowling area and great deals after 12 PM. Sports Betting-always crowded but available including horse racing from around US, not a bad option when in a betting mood. Events Center-from what I hear a lot of good people enjoys and participates, a definite winner! For the not so good points: Food in the Buffett area gets mighty tiresome fast, once in a while may find one or two items but if visited repeatedly is not a memorable outing, maybe the exception being Breakfast for selections for this time of the day are very decent, including eggs made to order and yes, believe it or not, chinese food (can't imagine the inner turmoils this might produced in the belly area, can you imagine sweet and sour chicken with fried rice for the first meal of the day? I can't. The rooms are barely acceptable and the big TV's are what make them so. Most times in the different rooms I have stayed their Air Conditioning units leave much to be desired and as we all know it is imperative to have proper atmosphere in a town like Las Vegas, room service is expensive and nothing to write home about-this goes back to food production in the place. I can not understand it, having all the foods available they don't seem to prepare them well, sort of like the high volume detracts from the quality. Now, don't get me wrong, South Point is not the only establishment cursed with this lack of quality for there are plenty more. You have to really know the correct places if you desire a memorable meal. So overall I rate it 3.5 Stars but since there are no halves I opt for 3 instead of 4. Perhaps the fact that on my last visit I lost enough to make my wallet bleed might have something to do with it.

Trip Type: Rest and Recreation Review 27 of 3200Great deal in Las Vegas
I've stayed in a number of hotels on the Strip and downtown before, and enjoyed most of them. However, after my first stay at the South Pointe this hotel has become one of my favourites. Large, nicely equipped rooms with luxurious amenities, excellent noise insulation, an a/c that produces a pleasant climate but hardly any noise, very helpful and efficient staff, reasonable prices for accomodation, food and drinks, sufficient parking space, and a very convenient location as long as you have a car. Easy access from and to I 15 gives you a travel time of less than 15 minutes to Fremont street, and 5 to 10 minutes to most of the Strip Casinos, and MacCarran airport.

If you are interested in not having all the hustle and bustle of the Vegas strip, this is the hotel for you. Family and kid friendly.

Trip Type: Business Review 29 of 3200Great value, so-so location
The hotel was a great deal for the price I payed, and the on-site movie theater, bowling alley, and spa were great. The location is fine unless you want to be close to the strip. If you take the 15 freeway back and forth, however, the trip isn't as long.
