Trip Type: Rest and Recreation Review 17 of 42Heavenly Getaway!
This hotel was unbelievably amazing! The cottages are charming and perfectly decorated/appointed. The atmosphere is serene. The grounds are beautiful. The surroundings are breathtaking. I'm not one to exaggerate! We had such an awesome time here. I will be going back ASAP. The restaurant was better than the meals we had in town, and the pools and spa and gym were totally perfect. I seriously would move in here if I could! The little touches really topped it off: Every room comes with 2 cruiser bikes to ride around the grounds and into town. Fun! Every cottage also has a little outdoor seating area. The bathroom has a little lounging window seat. It's heavenly! Highly recommend.

Trip Type: Romance Review 21 of 42Better service than I've seen in reviews.
The service here was great. They go out of their way to accommodate you and greet you. The restaurant is too pricey though. Great food, but huge portions -- and since your little bar fridge is so stocked up with over-priced items you might not be able to fit your leftovers in them! It would be nice if they had a lower price restaurant around when you just want a bite to eat - not a fancy dinner. Very very close-by is the main street of Calistoga. We just went to the nearby grocery store and collected items to take back to our room for our own "breakfast in bed" -- their breakfast is also very pricey and we didn't want to spend $6 + delivery charge + tax + tip for two eggs. Spa was nice. Loved it there. The pools were awesome.

Trip Type: Romance Review 22 of 42Beautiful and green- very peaceful and relaxing
We spent a romantic weekend at Solage in January and happened to have perfect weather. Calistoga is a great little town and a short bike ride away from the resort. Great meals at Solbar and in town, fun coffee places in town, Yo el Rey and Calistoga Roastery. The provided bikes were a great touch. The grounds are landscaped simply as are the rooms, which are more little studio units and feel quite private. Each has its own little patio out back with a couple of chairs. It is all very new and well done and made me feel relaxed and compfortable. Many green design and modern features are incorporated. The saltwater pool is amazing and beautiful. I am a swimmer and it was one of the highlights of my weekend. Beautiful fire and water fountain by the restaurant, great place for a drink. We also enjoyed great massages in the spa. We also had a mudslide treatment, which was not a mud bath, but more of a mud bake. Still enjoyable though. No shortage of things to do. Oh and if you have some free time, there is always wine...

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 23 of 42I look forward to another visit.
Pricey yes... but at least the quality is also high. Our room, #48, looked out toward the pool... normally not a plus... but here it was not only convenient, but gave you a feeling of even more space. The room is spacious and well designed. We liked having a pair of bicycles right at the room and it is a very easy ride into downtown Calistoga. I think this represents the best quality hotel at the top of the Napa Valley and I look forward to another visit.

Trip Type: Romance Review 28 of 42Service does not match 5 star design or rates
Overall the design of the hotel is lovely and the amenities are kitchy and cute in design. The service however is lacking. For the 5 star hotel rates they charge, basic service needs should be met. Our room was never restocked properly with towels, amenities and or used mini bar items. The restaurant staff was unknowledgeable on basic menu items and the security of the hotel was extremely lacking

Trip Type: Romance Review 29 of 42Perfect!
Perfect food, perfect location, perfect service! Although the Solage is a hotel unlike any other I have ever stayed at I was delighted. The simple charm of the exterior of the hotel made the sophistication of the whole experience all the better. For a wine country experience it is even better. I have been to Napa Valley before and I found this location, which may seem out of the way, is in the perfect location on the Silverado Trail where there is less traffic and great wineries. I will definitely be returning.

Trip Type: Romance Review 30 of 42Great spot in bucolic Calistoga
Definitely worth driving the short extra distance up the Napa Valley to this Calistoga resort/spa. The cabins, each with a retro bicycle, are modern, roomy and comfortable. We chose the room with a bath and gas fireplace and although the weather was warm enough to not need the fire, it created a really cosy atmosphere. While the pool and lounging area is huge, the spa (including natural hot spring bath-house) looked very nice, unfortunately we didn't have time in our schedule to try them out.
