    The Sofitel in Queenstown is an excellent hotel - some place I would recommend highly to anyone looking for a luxurious place to stay near the center of the action. The rates were reasonable for the amenities, comfort, and location of the hotel.

Location. Sofitel Queenstown is located in the center of mountainous and majestic Queenstown, Otago, and is just seven kilometers from the Queenstown Airport. Breath-taking Coronet Peak and the world's most thrilling jet boat ride, Shotover Jet are 10 kilometers from the hotel. Other popular attractions close to Sofitel Queenstown are Skyline Gondola, Earnslaw Steamboat and Lake Wakatipu less than one kilometer from the hotel. Remarkables, the local name for the mountains, is another favorite within 20 kilometers of the hotel.
