Sofitel Los Angeles

Hotel was great!

I loved every detail of this hotel. The rooms, the bathroom, the hotel bar/restaurant, the service, and you can't beat the location. I travel a lot and often stay with the Sofitel. This one was fabulous in every way and the rates were very reasonable.

Beautiful Hotel...a few service quirks though

We stayed at the Sofitel for three nights and thought the hotel was very comfortable, with over sized showers, soft bedding and a beautiful view of the Hollywood Hills. Our only complaint was a bathrobe in the closet that had not been removed and laundered. It had obviously been worn by a previous room occupant since we found his swim goggles in the pocket (ick!!). Also, we came down one morning to find our car parked next to the Valet stand (we had not asked to have it brought up). When we asked why our car was there, and how long it had been there, no one knew and said they thought we had called for it. They did take one night's valet parking off our bill as compensation. Overall, it is a really beautiful hotel, the bar is gorgeous and the location is great. I think the service issues were minor and they seemed to genuinely want to do the right thing.

WAY EXCEEDED our expectations. The staff was very polite and nice, INCREDIBLE workout facility, great area, and gorgeous view of the city! STAY HERE!

Excellent service hotel

I was impressed with the overall service provided by personnel at this hotel. It was very efficient and friendly. My only suggestion will be that the concierge needs to be more up to date with the restaurants. We wanted spanish tapas and there were two suggestions; a.o.c. and cobras and matador. The first served no tapas nor sangria and the latter did not even have a liquor license! So I had to go elsewhere to by a bottle of wine. Other than that we loved staying at this hotel and will stay again.

Good Hotel

Very nice hotel. HDTV in the room. Lots of shopping and some fast food nearby. There did not seem to be a large variety of sit-down restaurants within walking distance. The hotel restaurant was quite good, but if it isn't to your liking, you may have to drive or take a cab. Our even numbered room faced a busy street with sirens, so you may want to try an odd numbered room.

Needs much improvement

Customer service needs improvement and consistency. Stayed at hotel on two different occassions within a months time. A visit to the gym turned out to be an experience of selective ID of guest instead of all guest. Witness one guest get turned away because he did not have hotel key readily available while at the same time other guest were not requested or asked to show room key at all. This similar incident occurred involving myself just the prior day. Wanted to speak to hotel manager and did not receive any report in return.

Great Deal in Los Angeles

We received 5 star service--everyhting was clean, comfortable and the check in and check out process was amazingy efficient as well as the valet service. Great location!

My Favorite in Los Angeles

Booked a Prestige Suite with a beautiful view of the Hollywood Hills. Everything about the room was perfect and the hotel staff from check in to valet were very friendly and helpful as always. Breakfast is wonderful and a great value as most breakfasts include juice and coffee and a complimentary basket of breakfast breads. Valet parking is a bit pricey, but it's Beverly Hills and the location is excellent. You can walk to restaurant row on La Cienaga for fine dining. We enjoyed Lawry's Prime Rib this trip, but recommend Fogo de Chao and Arnie Morton's as well for great dinners.

Fabulous Hotel

The Sofitel LA was fabulous!! The staff treated me like royalty. The room was very well appointed with every creature comfort imaginable. Made it very hard to leave and come home. If I go back to LA, I will definitely stay there again.
