Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 2 of 88NIce hotel, but definitely some flaws...
The situation at Gatwick airport is pretty brutal. We landed in the South terminal, had to take a bus to the North terminal. Ok, this was reasonable for any airport hotel, but then we had to haul our three bags each quite a long distance outside to the hotel. I must admit, once at the hotel, things ran rather smoothly and the service was fine. Also the next morning they had a coach to take people directly to the south terminal b/c of all the inconveniences they are experiencing with the construction projects. I would say this feature should be permanent and charging people 2 pounds for the trip seemed silly as hell. It is the problem of the airport and the hotel, not the customers. But, if you are going to do some traveling and do not want the hassle of leaving the airport, it was definitely the best option.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 3 of 88Beautiful, clean hotel but inconvenient at this time.
The monorail connection between terminals closed at the end of September for repairs which will take a year. The walkway from the hotel to the terminal is also closed for renovation. Therefore, to reach the terminal one has to take the elevator down to the ground floor, go through the car park, cross the road and then take another elevator up two flights to reach the shuttle bus for the south terminal. There were a good number of buses for the transfer, but a lot of up and down walking with luggage. However, on a trial basis, the hotel is providing a bus, costing two pounds from the front door of the hotel to the south terminal which was very convenient. One must make a reservation at the desk. Secondly, many English hotels do not provide a wash cloth. It is like taking your own tooth brush. This hotel did not provide a face cloth but I always carry my own. Everything else was perfect: comfortable, clean room.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 4 of 88Great Airport Hotel
I loved this hotel! It is so wonderfully comfortable, clean and luxurious. A great hotel right at the Gatwick airport. I was able to get up early and head right to the terminal for my flight. It is not a hotel you'd want to stay in for a trip to central London. The tunnel from the terminal is under construction. So finding the route to the lobby was a bit confusing. But I'd highly recommend this hotel for anyone needing a place to stay at Gatwick.

Trip Type: Family Review 7 of 88Good hotel-terrible food
The hotel is nice and it is very convenient. There is no reason related to amenities as to why anyone should not stay in this hotel. If you need food late in the evening though, please do not order room service. The food is simply unacceptable. We had 2 double-decker sandwiches (chicken and roast beef) and they were disgusting. The white bread looked like a mop sponge and the taste was terrible. The fruit plate we got was from probably from an old expired can. Put it simply, I would never order food in that place again.

Trip Type: Business Review 8 of 88Good hotel in great airport location but construction is a negative
We stayed at the Sofitel before an early morning departure from Gatwick. Construction has resulted in closure of the skybridge connecting it to Gatwick so it is less convenient than normal. It is still possible to walk to the North terminal by going outside and crossing a busy street. We found the staff to be very courteous and efficient. Seating capacity in the hotel's three restaurants is limited when the hotel is full; we could not be seated util 9:30 p.m. It is safest to reserve a table in advance.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 10 of 88Sofitel overnight recovery from a 12-day cruise
This was a spacious, affordably priced room to rest up prior to a long international flight the following day. The room had a large window that allowed in much light and added to the clean, pleasant ambiance of the location. The beds were particularly comfortable.

Trip Type: Family Review 12 of 88superstar
We stayed in this hotel at London Gatwick just as a convenience before flying home to the US the next morning, and we are pleasantly surprised. The whole facility and its staff were very impressive. It had good restaurants, which is a major plus in an airport setting. The staff was professional and helpful, and I would certainly pick this one again. Also, the rate was an excellent value.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 13 of 88Luxury and size
After 3 weeks of tiny bathrooms in England, and showers and tubs, I could barely fit into, the size of the bathroom and its amenities was a treat. Wonderful kingsized bed with fabulous duvet. Great meal downstairs, was very quiet though at an airport. Highly recommended.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 15 of 88lovely and super convenient
The hotel was clean, new, showers were a dream.Very convenient for access to the North Terminal. The Cafe meal was surprisingly excellent. Perhaps my only two negative comments would be that the local telephone call rate is expensive and that the porter service seemed a little scant. This only mattered because I was pregnant and felt I would be better off with some assistance. However, for anyone in a normal physical state the short push to the terminal is practically effortless.I would definitely stay there again.
