Trip Type: Business Review 4 of 171Not what I expected
I reserved 4 rooms. My room was in the older part of the hotel (Kaiulani Tower) and smelled old, moldy and just plain stinky in the hallway. The room was old, A/C not working well, no ventilation in the bathroom. I will say the bed was confortable and the view was ok. My associates' rooms were newer, not fancy by any means, but leads ahead of mine. The food was fine, service ok..there is no valet parking and checking in took time. Additional costs for wireless connection was not expected. There were hawaiian craftsman in the lobby area and the nightly hawaiian entertainment was enjoyable.

Trip Type: Business Review 5 of 171only buffet meals
The stay was sufficient since we are rarely in our rooms in Hawaii. We would have preferred to be able to order a la carte than buffet only. Free internet in the rooms would have been nice since the computers in the lobby were busy at all time of the day. The staff were very amiable. And to my surprise hotels.com gave us a better deal on this Starwood hotel than Starwood would give us even as members!

Trip Type: Business Review 7 of 171Great room & location for the money
The hotel location is excellent and clean room. I really like the bed, it's so comfortable. They have 4 feather pillows on each bed. Price is very good for the quality of the service. We go back again.

Booked room with city view so did not expect a view and the room was smaller than we expected but sufficient for the two of us.

A nice, friendly hotel, right across the street from Waikiki beach!! Definitely worth the price we paid! Had a band and hula dancers every night out by the pool!

Trip Type: Special Event Review 11 of 171Great Location
Waikiki Beach was across the street. Surrounding stores and restaurants were very nice. Service at the hotel was great! I was most impressed with the hospitality room as our flight did not leave until 11:00 p.m. We were able to swim until sunset in the ocean and then shower and clean up in a very nice hospitality room before leaving for the airport.

The room was clean and the service was very good. The location is excellent β right near the beach. Itβs across from the Hyatt where you catch most of the buses for the tours! We were given a nice basket of fruit on the second day. The hotel had music, entertainment and crafts in the lobby.

Trip Type: Family Review 13 of 171Decent Hotel
We were traveling with teenagers and grandparents and had two rooms booked for a couple of nights. They were full and upgraded us to the presidential suite at no charge. Awesome rooms, top floor, two bedrooms, full kitchen, living room, dining room, wrap around balcony that overlooked the street and we were high enough up that we could see over the other hotels to the ocean. Too bad we were only there for two nights and then on to the big island. Hotel is a little old and could use some updating but obviously the top floor presidential suite at the cost of two regular rooms is a way good deal.

This Hotel is right across the street one short block from the beach on the busy street. It is a very large hotel, we stayed on the 25th floor. Somewhat challenging for those that don't like heights but hotel was clean and safe. Internet access is downstairs in the lobby on machines with 15 minute limits. There is one machine you can pay for. You can also pay $14.95 for Internet access in your room. The pool closes before the Music show outside (around 6-7PM) but you can watch the show from poolside for free and not have to order a meal. Food is expensive in Waikiki but check out the food court at the Royal Hawaiian Mall for some good cheap offerings. In an alley West of the Hotel before the International Market are a couple cheap restaurants, Korean and Chinese (Fattys) that are real reasonable. Parking is onsite (no elevator in the parking garage) and is $20.00 per day so figure that in your costs.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 15 of 171Great Hotel but beware Hidden Charges
About the facilities and staff: great. However, if you are on a budget, beware of the extras like a 17 dollar per day per room service charge for parking, pool, concierge, etc. This can have some folks cutting back on meals or excursions. Otherwise a great place to R and R.
