Nice Hotel

We booked a deluxe oceanfront room and were happy with the view. Rooms are comfortable and clean. The food at the restaurants was a little pricey but good. Hotel staff (other than wait staff in restaurants) could have been a little friendlier.

Okay-Sheraton Kauai Poipu Beach

Overall, the hotel was not like a tropical paradise, but more like a conference hotel IN paradise. When I stayed there many years ago in the past, it had more the feel of old Hawaii not of one greeting conference goers. I had also stayed at the Waikiki Sheraton this trip and found it more tourist-friendly. This was the only hotel on my trip to use disposable coffee cups and drinking glasses. Also, it put one of those hot shot coffee makers which is almost like a tepid bit of hot water to make either a cup of instant or weak tea. I would have been very unhappy if I'd stayed any longer than one night with having to find coffee each day in a hotel where the restaurant was across the street. If you want more of an island experience go elsewhere. If you want to think you're still on the mainland, then this is your place to stay. We visited the beautiful beach but not the restaurant.

great hotel

Worth getting an oceanfront balcony, the room that hotels.com booked for me was overlooking a parking lot with a tiny corner of ocean view, was priced as "ocean view". Ugh. Paid 75 extra dollars a night to upgrade to a true oceanfront, waves crashing below my balcony, great view. However if I had the original room, for the price I was paying I would have not been very happy with it.

Horrible hotel, poor customer service, terrible experience

We did not encounter a single person at the hotel with good customer service skills. We were charged $50 extra due to another family member staying in our room and $15 for a resort fee even though the ammenties that were provided by the resort fee weren't available the evening we stayed there. The "courtesy room" which was to be available for us to shower in before our evening flight was not cleaned between other clients. A maid barged into our room at 8 AM after a single knock at the door. There are much better and more cost effective options in the Poipu area. We will not return to the Sheraton again.

Needs Improvement

Employees' services are a littel too slow especially at the front desk, the concierge desk and the reception desk at restaurants.

Beautiful rooms, Excellent service, leave the kids @ home!!!

Definately check out the Luau it is the best show on the Island! Great dive spots close to hotel (Sheraton caverns, Fast lanes) and good snorkeling on the Hotel beaches.
