Sheraton Barra Hotel & Suites

Welcoming staff in a great, beachside location

My experience at the Sheraton was very positive. The staff was very welcoming and were very amenable to any need during my stay and I found the hotel to be very clean and well maintained. Overall, a very enjoyable stay.

Beautiful View

The Barra was beautiful with wonderful balconies that give great views of the ocean, a great pool and an easy walk to many restaurants. I would definitely stay again.

Outstanding Hotel

I wouldn't recommend this hotel.....

Our first room was not clean and had an awful smell. After complaining a lot, they assigned us an other room which was a little better. Still, I wouldn't recommend this hotel...

Great room for the money!!!

The Sheraton Barra Hotel was an exceptional hotel that accommodated our every need. The views from the balcony were magnificent in every direction. Mountains and the ocean just took my breath away!!!

Very Good Hotel

The Sherator Barra is a very good Hotel. Our room was excellent (a "preferred" room), and very well laid out. The service was generally good, but occasionally forgetful; however, responses to requests were nearly instantaneous. The beach is excellent, but most restaurants and points of interest are a bus or taxi ride away. There was a mildew smell in the room.

Needs change carpets

Nice hotel, nice neighborhood, nice staff. BAD little far from Rio's Main attractions, carpets really stinks, and the rate we got from hotels.com didn't include breakfast.

Fancy kid friendly Hotel

The Sheraton Barra is a nice place, nice finishes, great service, fancy rooms the whole kit...despite all this its still very kid friendly becuase of the excellent pool. With multiple staff in the water dedicated to playing with the older kids and a wading pool for the younger ones, the pool scene is excellent. A full poolside restauraunt completes the package. I will say that I was slightly disappointed that our room was not ready when we arrived and I was given a bogus reason, "the safe was broken" that said, everything in Brazil is delayed and the quality of our stay overall was excellent. Also - most hotels in Brazil offer free breakfast - here its USD $40 - but the food is excellent.

Over Priced

This hotel was way over priced for what you get. The room was dirty and smelled like wet dog. There were no 110v plug ins only 220v. I do not like to plug my computer into a converter. The location is a long way from anything to do in Rio.
