Trip Type: Romance Review 1 of 17They Nickle and Dime you, everything costs extra, from a seat at the pool, to parking your car.
Hotel is good, too many hidden costs. they are not upfront about their policies.

I have been staying at this hotel for the past five to six years during the Columbus Day Holiday weekend. This was the first time I had ever stayed in a room with a cramped stand up shower (no bathtub). Also, I had my neighbors in the room next to me calling me at 2:00 AM to tell me to take of the TV in my room because they couldn’t sleep. I can assure that the TV was not loud. This is unacceptable.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 3 of 17Good deal for the money
But don't expect to negotiate any upgrades. Even in this economy, they were sticklers on the details. With only 33 rooms (of 150+) occupied, I couldn't get any upgrade. And they nickle and dime you to death. The only adder was continental brkfast, which was nothing special. Want to lounge by the pool? You will pay $10 for 2 for just half a day. I paid $18/day for parking, but later heard that others didn't mention they had a car and parked for free (the lot was never more than 20% full). Ice machine did not work. Expect to tip someone to fetch a bucket of ice. Hit or miss on the staff; some super nice and others pretty cold. Location is awesome; walk to Bal Harbor Mall, and centrally located to other places. Room was very nice.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 5 of 17great value in excellent location
the hotel is right on the beach in bal harbor--bal harbour is beautiful, quiet, and ritzy. restaurants and shops are within walking distance. if you're looking for a quiet place to get away this it. if you're looking to be close to south beach, this hotel won't work for you. the staff are extremely helpful and attentive.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 6 of 17extra charges for everything
this is the first time i am required to pay for the chair at the pool area when I am stayng at a hotel,or you may decide to take the sun on the concretet floor, make sure to bring a news paper or be ready for an extra amount if umbrella is needed! is economy that bad? or only wrong policies at hospitality industry?

Trip Type: Special Event Review 7 of 17Nice hotel but gouged for every service
This is a lovely hotel but every time you turned around you were charged for services that usually are included in your room rate. For example, to sit by the pool costs $10-$15 depending on the type chaise lounge you used. The same 10-15 to sit on the beach. The exercise room cost $10, $18 to park your car in the ample lot, and business services also expensive. We enjoyed our stay, but were not alone in our dissatisfaction with charges - we heard grumbling from several other guests about the pool/beach charges especially. In addition, the one meal we ate on-site, lunch, took 45+ minutes to get food. There were two servers and two tables with guests. Order consisted of chicken salad, cobb salad, and cheeseburger. What they were doing in the kitchen I have no idea, but it was not a good experience.

Trip Type: Business Review 9 of 17Loved it
I was only there one night and was in town for business. The hotel was beautiful - art deco, 1920s style. There were hardly any other guests there so the property was very quiet. The beach is quite nice and quite. I liked it b/c it's away from the craziness of S. Beach but not too far if you want to go to that area. I read that you have to pay for beach chairs so I took my own. The pool is huge. There was some construction but I never heard it in my room. I would stay here again.

Trip Type: Family Review 10 of 17Decent Hotel
It is a good hotel with ocean view. The dowside of the hotel is that it is far from South Beach and other hot/colorful places if you want to spend time in those neigbourhoods. It is a 15 minute cab ride to Lincoln Road or Ocean Drive in South Beach. Also, even though the room and the hotel was clean, the decor is from 70s and appeals to mostly elderly folks.

My wife and I truly enjoyed our stat at the Seaview. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The loe hotel pool area is outstanding and the beach was only steps away.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 14 of 17Great small hotel
The hotel room we were originally given had a horrible view-- that of a roof, but the hotel was very accomodating in changing us to a better room.
