    We had no air conditioning and only one window that opened a crack. The only fan was a desk fan that didn't work. The sheets and bathroom were far from clean. The only bright spot was the wonderful breakfast that was included.

    On the one hand, this is a very good hotel. On the other, it's in a shopping mall. From the reception desk, you walk across the mall, past the movie theater, to get to the elevator to your room. It did make it convenient to go to a late movie and roll right into the elevator. But aside from that oddity, the hotel was clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was terrific. Two blocks from the main square and very close to museums and tons of restaurants.

The Scandic Julia is a modern, four-floor hotel situated in the city centre, 500 metres from the cathedral and one kilometre from the market place. The hotel has 118 guestrooms with traditional style decor, white furnishings and patterned fabrics. All guestrooms include televisions with pay movies, telephones, wireless Internet, and bathrooms with toiletries, showers and hair dryers.

Guests can unwind in the traditional Finnish sauna, and the hotel building houses a cinema, so guests don't have far to go to enjoy a movie after dinner. The contemporary restaurant serves Mediterranean dishes and guests can dine by the open fireplace. The children's play corner provides kids with the opportunity to read, draw and play games whilst adults can relax with a newspaper in the lobby bar or take advantage of the free wireless Internet connection available throughout the hotel. Kids also receive a surprise gift at check-in from Sigge the hedgehog. Business guests can enjoy access to three meeting rooms, and those arriving by car will find indoor parking available (surcharge). Visitors will find the cathedral, theatre, and several museums within one kilometre, and the Moomin World theme park 16 kilometres away. Turku Airport is eight kilometres from the hotel with an approximate driving time of 20 minutes.
