This has it all (for us) - old NYC charm, care, cleanliness, & spaciousness without the glitz of a Hilton, etc. It was simple and perfect, including location.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 34 of 737Great Location
This hotel was one block from Central Park South and was withing walking distance to restaurants, etc. There's a continental breakfast offered for six dollars and is well worth it. The condition of the hotel is satisfactory - old but clean. It was a good deal for the money, but I would probably pay a little extra next time and stay somewhere else.

We had 3 rooms at the Salisbury. I have stayed in New York before and my rooms were very small. All three rooms were very large with a living room area, bedroom and bathroom. Refrigerator and microwave were also included. We loved the large rooms. Very nice location. Overall it was a great room for the money.

The Salisbury Hotel is so-o-o centrally located. On the left when you walk out the hotel are two reasonable restaurants. On the right one block down is a supermarket and their are two subways at the end of the block. Drugstore one block; Central Park two blocks -- you can see it from the corner. I highly recommend the breakfast -- much better than I anticipated -- well tended and good assortment. The help at the front desk was very helpful. I definitely know where I will be staying if I ever get back to New York. Older hotel than has been updated -- spacious!!!!

Trip Type: With Friends Review 38 of 737great location
Loved the location of the hotel and the fact that it is a classic old style. The drawbacks are the carpets which in our room ( especially the closet ) smelled like dog pee. The continental breakfast was cheap and everything fresh and tasty. For the price they should be able to change the old gross carpets.

Trip Type: Romance Review 39 of 737frumpy but convenient
I've stayed at the Salisbury on and off for more than 10 years, and most things remain the very same including the slowest elevators in the City. But it's a clean room in a great location. When it is a good price, I grab it. The 2-bedroom suites are immense.

The Salisbury is very professionally run and the rooms are quiet and comfortable. The location can't be beat.

Trip Type: Romance Review 41 of 737Not as good as it used to be
We have stayed at the Salisbury several since 1997. We have always recomended it to friends when they will be traveling to NYC. It now has a church group that uses some of the facilities so not all the people who are in the hotel are hotel occupants. The staf used to be more courteous--would ask if they could get you a cab when you left, run curbside when they saw you were getting out of a cab. Just not as nice overall as it used to be.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 45 of 737Location
I liked the location....close to Carnegie Hall. Great room for the price. Generous size and microwave, coffee maker, refrig, living room with TV andhide-a-bed and bedroom with another TV. Very comfortable for the 3 of us. The two restaurants next to the hotel were great, too. The Green Cafe has a great staff and quick meals, especially breakfast! Very convenient to lots of activities. We walked the 9 short blocks to Times Square without trouble and on to the Empire State Building. Lots to see. I recommend Hotels.com to all my friends and this one in particular.
