Older hotel that is really showing its age. On par with most of the downtown hotels but it is very isolated other casinos. Its only saving grace is the monorail is connected there, fast way up and down the strip.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 20 of 2940Just my two cents worth
This hotel is an older hotel and does show it age, but for the price I paid I was well impressed. Basicly I went there for my brothers wedding (he stayed at another hotel further down the strip), For what I paid I was pleasantly suprised. I had no problems with the room or any of the amenities I used. My only complaint is this is at the tail end of the strip away from where a lot of the other things on the strip are.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 22 of 2940Nice room for the money
I got a good room for the money I paid. But I had to wait for a long time to check in as there was less staffing.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 24 of 2940Loved discounted rate for decent room condition, hated smoking enviorment
The room condition was fairly good considering the rate. However except for the room, everywhere else allowed smoking. The air was pretty bad at night.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 26 of 2940Great hotel and room for the money.
This is my second stay at the hotel, the service is very good, facilities are fine. If you are not a big league gambler, this casino is an excelent option, roulette bets start on 1 dolar most of the time and black jack I believe in 5. Their restaurants are good and not expensive and if you bet and accumulate points, meals could be paid with them.

Hotel added an additional charge for third person in room even though it was a child and added a pool charge when we checked in.

Everything was "old" and worn out in our hotel room. This hotel needs to be remodelled badly.

Trip Type: Romance Review 29 of 2940Good value
This was a good hotel for the money, and the restauraunt and bar (and minimum bets for the casino) were much less expensive than the nicer hotels on the strip. It is certainly not as awe-inspiring as the nicer hotels, although the pool area was nice and there is a large hot-tub that was pleasant. You stay here for the low cost, and get a clean room (although I was in 3 different rooms and all of the bathtubs were chipped) with a decent bed. It is a pretty long walk to the more famous area of the strip - maybe 30 minutes - although it won't seem so far once some of the construction that is going on is finished and there isn't so much empty pace between the hotel and the rest of the strip. There is also a 24 hour bus that costs $7 for the day or $3 round-trip, the monorail that has a stop at the Sahara, and taxis which cost about $10 each way from the hotel to the strip (for a 5 minute ride it's pretty expensive). Also, parking is free pretty much everywhere because they want you to come in and gamble, so if you have a rental car, no worries.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 30 of 2940additional fees and unfriendly service.
Because we were booking for 3 people to share a room an additional fee of $20 per night was tacked onto the price. It would have been cheaper to book a second room instead of sharing. There was an addition fee of $6 also per day. Plus, once we were there we paid for an upgrade. If the room was upgraded, I hate to see what the normal room was. Overall, the staff was not very friendly. We felt the place was seriously overpriced. The wireless Internet was also $24 for 3 days. I would not recommend the Sahara.
