Description
See more detailsLocation. Facing the white sands of Grace Bay Beach, the Royal West Indies Resort is located on the beautiful north shore of Providenciales Island in the Turks and Caicos chain. Known as Provo, the island is the most developed in the chain and boasts a natural deep harbor and a barrier reef that is popular with divers. The resort is one-half kilometer from both the Provo Golf Club and shopping and dining venues. Grace Bay Beach, which has been touted as the number-one beach on the planet, mingles with tranquil, crystal blue waters that are great for swimming due to the reef and lack of rocks. Recreational possibilities include fishing, parasailing, scuba diving and golfing. A variety of restaurants inhabit the island, serving Mexican, Caribbean, Mediterranean, French and other forms of international cuisine.
Hotel Features. The resort features two large freeform pools and a raised, jetted tub flanked by tropical foliage and sundecks with lounge chairs. Guests receive complimentary use of snorkeling gear, small sailboats, windsurfers and bicycles. The Mango Reef serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and features Asian specialties, Filet Mignon, shrimp, barbeque and others. There is a computer in the lobby for guest use and wireless Internet access is also available. The 24-hour front desk staff can assist with tour planning, wedding services and concierge. A video library is located within the resort.
Guestrooms. The resort offers studios and suites in three-story buildings with no elevators. Studios have kitchenettes and suites have full-kitchens. Standard amenities include in-room safes, CD stereos, DVD players and cable television.
Expert Tip. Half-day and full-day sailing and snorkeling excursion are offered, with one of the most popular being the trip to Iguana Island trip, dubbed a "Mini-Jurassic Park."
