Trip Type: Family Review 1 of 171Are You Kidding?
Ok, I would first like to say that I am not really a picky person, but this place was unacceptable. When we first checked in there were no towels anywhere in the room, nor was there a remote control for the TV. The trash can was left full from the people that stayed before us. The tile was cracked and broken in the bathroom. The carpet was supposed to be red but instead was black in the high traffic areas from ground in dirt. The lamp next to the bed did not work. We were supposed to have a lake view, yeah right, we could see a couple slivers of water through the pine trees. Anyway, there were a couple of good points. The night staff was very friendly, the lake was just across the sreet, and the doughnuts at breakfast were fresh and good. I know you can find a better place to stay in Lake Tahoe stay clear of this one, not even close to what they show on their website.

Trip Type: Business Review 3 of 171On The Lake - Close To Everything
The hotel room was fine. The location is great - it's on the lake and just a few minutes drive to the casinos. The shower door, frame, and nozzle are built with a 5'-0" person in mind. I'm 6'-3" and the shower nozzle was at my chest, and I banged my forehead into the shower door frame when I stepped inside. Other than that, the room was acceptable.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 4 of 171Nice Place
Cool little hotel, right on the lake. We wer're upgraded to a 2 bedroom at no extra cost, that was very nice of them, i didn't even ask.The balcony has a great view of the lake and the mountains surrounding it. The casinos are right down the block, we walked many times.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 5 of 171Very Accomodating
When we arrived at the hotel it seemed we were in for a not-so-great weekend - there was a Mens Church Group event going on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday on the adjacent property right in front of our window. We called the hotel desk after the first night and they provided us with a free upgrade to their top-floor newly-remodeled-with-all-the-amenities Sierra Suite. Needless to say, we slept great and enjoyed all the extras that came with the Suite - at no extra cost. Thank you Sue and Rosa!

Trip Type: With Friends Review 7 of 171Great location-some rooms overlook the lake
Excellent value for the money. Bathroom area rather small, but everything clean & functional, with balcony overlooking the lake. Walking distance to casinos.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 9 of 171All Good, except Bring Your Pillow
Four of us stayed the Royal Valhalla for the Tour de Tahoe bike ride Sep. 13, 2009. I liked many things about the hotel, and there a few things I would hope they would improve. Good stuff: + Location is phenomenal! On the water's edge, at Stateline, 2 blocks away from the casinos. + Good size room (2Q beds, #501) + Clean room + Welcoming lobby + Adequate continental breakfast + Front desk gentleman on Saturday night was very friendly and helpful Needs improvement: - Pillows were awful to sleep on. You expect a pillow to be soft and cushion your head. These were thin and they felt concave, if that's even possible, so your head felt like rolling to either side. It made for a poor night sleep. - Hard mattress, but ok if there are decent pillows. Bad combo though. - No A/C - Morning front desk girl was not knowledgeable or helpful

Trip Type: Family Review 13 of 171Great location - rooms showing their age
I've stayed at this hotel for years. Next time to the area, despite nostalgia, I will check the web regarding room comments before booking. The place has aged and needs obvious room maintenance: there were a few broken items in our room; nothing major, just older rooms needing continuous TLC that perhaps taxes management or the maintenance staff. Too bad...

Trip Type: Special Event Review 14 of 171Excellent Location
Older hotel that could use some updating. The staff was friendly and the location was excellent. The Lake was located just across the street and a very nice restaurant was in close walking distance. Also got a pass to the private beach which normally costs $5/person.
