Royal Sun Inn

literally stinks!

The outside of this hotel looks inviting, but our room literally stank! It reeked of a strong chemical smell, and all of the interior furnishings obviously needed to be replaced years ago. Our bedspread was disgusting, and the sheets were so old that there were holes from the wear and tear. The hotel is actually situated to have a very nice view of San Juacinto mountain behind Palm Springs, but the unpruned trees in front of our room window prevented us from enjoying the view. Breakfast was decent, although the breakfast room is extremely small and very hot (there is a woman in an adjacent room baking bread, and it really heats up the breakfast eating area). The bottom line is this: don't stay here unless they complete a floor-to-ceiling renovation of all the rooms.

For the price it was alright. It's an old hotel that keeps it clean as possible. There was a slight smell, after you turn on the AC you can hardly notice. It was a sweet little room for the price.

Just ok

The hotel showed some signs of being run down, from the outside lights on the palm trees never came on at night,to the bathroom that needed remodeling, and the front desk people were not very friendly....

I didn't pay much for the room it waS nice clean and best of all they had free wifi and we had the room with a view to the pool. The staff was nice and over all I would stay there again....

Super deal

It may be a 2 star hotel/motel, but the room was very clean and smelled fresh. Obviously, the staff have been trained to give attention to detail. Could use an upgrade (like newer showers!) but for the price, I cannot complain. It was very clean and THAT is what matters.

Bargin

Not the Ritz, but a nice clean hotel and a great price. Not a resort stay but a nice room if you need somewhere to sleep. The continental breakfast a little more than most. The jacuzzi needs to be replastered. Free WiFi and beds are comfy.

Can't wait to go back!

I wasn't expecting much for the price. The room was booked at the last possible moment. The gentleman at the front was extremely nice. The room had all the ammenities, including free wireless internet access and basic cable. The continental breakfast was outstanding. Try the waffle maker. The pool was nice. The hotel is very close to downtown and right accross the street is the Moorten Botanical Gardens. I can't wait to go back!

Great for the Price!

Come on people...you are not at the Wynn...this hotel is very comfortable and clean for what you pay for...actually it is better than what you pay for. The place was very clean, people and staff were friendly, food for breakfast was good, pool was heated and jacuzzi was very relaxing...Really what more can you ask for at the price!!! I would go back....most definately!(smile)

Great Hotel

The hotel personnel were very nice. Private balcony with our room was very appreciated. Air conditioning worked well, and was very appreciated. Dang good hotel.

Royal Sun, Palm Springs

Competence reigns in every aspect at this simple place. The exceptions are the checker-inner who cannot answer a yes/no question in fewer than a hundred words and the excellence of the breakfast faire. The price we paid made it a good value.
