Resort at Sonoma County

Location. The Resort at Sonoma County is located in one of the most famous winegrowing regions in the world, Sonoma Valley, Calif. Just outside of downtown Windsor, a quaint community shadowing the banks of the Russian River, the resort is convenient to dining and shopping venues, as well as a water park. Hundreds of vineyards and wineries are located in the surrounding area, which includes neighboring Napa Valley. Horseback riding, kayaking, tennis, golf and hiking are all available, and Lake Sonoma, just over 20 miles from the resort, offers various water sports.

Hotel Features. The resort features an outdoor pool surrounded by a sundeck with a children's playground adjacent. Fitness equipment is located on site and there is a arcade/game room available. Parking is complimentary and there are barbeque grills for guest use.

Guestrooms. The two-bedroom, two- bathroom condos feature fully equipped kitchens with refrigerators, ranges, dishwashers and microwave ovens. Fireplaces and balconies are standard, and each unit comes with its own laundry machines. Other amenities include CD stereos, DVD/VCRs and cable television.

Expert Tip. Most of the local wineries are open to the public and offer tastings and informative tours. Many of the wineries and aging rooms are recessed into the hillsides, mostly underground in order to maintain steady temperatures.
