Trip Type: Business Review 6 of 43Business Stay in Pittsburgh
I have stayed here over the years and must say it is always one of my favorite hotes.....Simply hard to get into the place as it is always booked. I grabbed a room on Hotels.com and was both pleased with the price and the room assigned. Very nice. The General Manager acknowledged my return with a delivery of fruit to my room. There was a little lobby work being done but managable. The front desk assistance was excellent as well. I will be back......Thank you.

The walls are paper thin. You can hear your next door room open curtains and other stuff you don't want to hear. Very disappointed. They provide NO TRANSPORTATION like other less expensive hotels in the area.

The staff and service was excellent. But the condition of the hotel and it's amenitites seemed a bit out of date and not the clean. The marble floors were chipped and falling a part and the bedding (bed skirt) and carpeting was stained.

We have stayed at other hotels in Pittsburgh, but were looking forward to staying at the Renaissance because of it's reputation and quality. One elevator was broken, and the hotel was very busy, so everyone jammed into the first elevator that came. There was a large dirty spot on the carpet in our room, directly in the path as you walked in the door. Crumbs were on the windowsill (we didn't eat anything there, so I don't think they were our crumbs). At check-in, we overheard the person next to us being told about the work-out room, arrangements with Bally's fitness center next door, and a key to the mini-bar. I'm not sure why, but we were given none of this information upon checkin, and never received a key to the mini-bar. For the price, I expected better.

The service and facilities at the Renaissance Pittsburgh were excellent. The room was comfortable, although not very large. Breakfast at the Opus restaurant was terrific. Overall good value in a good location near the Clemente (6th St) Bridge. Also in the heart of the theater district.

I've stayed here several times. Every room has been gorgeous, comfortable and clean. The staff is friendly, competent and eager to please. But if you're booking a room for two, don't assume you will get a king-size bed. My husband and I suffered through one night then asked the staff to relocate us. The hotel was completely full but the desk clerk finally came up with the brilliant idea of putting us in an unreserved handicapped room. The new room and the entire staff were perfect.
