Trip Type: With Friends Review 3 of 85Bad Service
I was very disappointed in my stay. I had booked the hotel becuase I was throwing a bachelorette party and we wanted to be close to downtown. There were 4 girls going to be staying at the hotel. When I went to check in (around 1:30pm), I was told that there were 5 weddings that weekend and we would be in a room with one king bed and we could have roll away cots. I said that was unexceptable because I needed 2 beds for 4 people. There was no way I would make out of town guests sleep on a roll away cot. I was very up set and another employee came over an looked at the screen. She typed in some inforamtion and some how an room with 2 king beds "magically" became available. We got up to our room and my friend and I wanted to go swimming. We went to the pool and there was only 1 towel to use at the pool. You would like that with having 5 weddings there would be a sufficient amount of towels. We left the pool area and there was a man on our floor sitting in a chair dressed in a suit asking anyone who came off the elevator if they needed help finding their room. I assumed he worked there so I told him the situation about the pool towels and he said he would get someone to get towels. We went back to the pool about an hour later and there were still no towels. When we checked out the following morning the guy that checked us out was the same guy that checked us in. He asked how the stay was and I told him everything. He said he didn't know the man sitting on the floor and said that it wasn't one of their workers. He said that we should have called the front desk. How would I know to call the front desk when there is a person sitting on the floor directing people, I thought he worked there. I was very unsatisfied with my stay. I felt the price was too high for the disappointment that it created.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 4 of 85Rooms need major renovation
Stayed in a suite very spacious. Furniture old, some broken, room was musty. Bathroom floor urine stained marble. Just a major disappointment.

Trip Type: Business Review 5 of 85Halls of Must
Wonderfully historical lobby area is about all that is alluring with this RH. Once I made it to the seventh floor - an odor of must and mold (similar to urine) smacked me in the face -- hotel instantly lost ALL of its allure. Never smelled such in any 2 or 3-star hotel. Rooms require major upgrade despite the interesting antique feel. I expected plush bedding but didn't find it. Free parking was part of my package, yet I had to 'convince' front desk staff twice to exclude parking fees from my bill. Directions to local eateries was barely legible. Staff really didn't care much. Bellmen and parking attendants spent more time chatting amongst themselves than attending to hotel guests. Won't stay there again. Perhaps I should attribute it all to the reputation that is Cleveland!!!

Trip Type: With Friends Review 6 of 85Overbooked
When we checked in, even though we booked a room for 4 people. They only had 1 room with 1 bed. They told us to go to another hotel. I wasn't leaving that counter. It took them awhile to fix the problem. They did end up giving us a "meeting room" with a murphy bed. Not as comfortable. but at least we had a place to lay our head.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 7 of 85Never Again
I've stayed at several Renaissance Hotels in the past. This was the absolute WORST experience I've ever had with a RH. They weren't able to provide me with the room I booked. They offered me a roll away bed and then failed to provide it. I called to ask for it when we returned for the evening and they informed me they were sold out of them. The room smelled of mildew and was the size of a postage stamp. There was no coffee pot in the room. I was embarrassed at inviting my friends there for a fun night in the city. The only plus was the location was convenient to many restaurants and lounges. Thats it!

Trip Type: With Friends Review 9 of 85Incidentals
I was quite disappointed with the fact that they charged an "incidental charge" to my credit card without telling me what the "incidental" was. I had to call the hotel twice to have it removed because the "incidental" was part of my package.

The hotel was easy access and beautifully decorated. The only downside was the $23 per day to park my car in the parking deck.

Trip Type: Romance Review 11 of 85small rooms in expensive hotel
We enjoyed our stay due to convenience of location , but the room was really small for such an expensive hotel. Also, we were 3 doors down from a club room (I assume a private party room) and there were people running up and down our hall screaming from Midnite till after 3AM, so it was difficult to sleep. I also find it amazing that the more expensive hotels (like this one) charge extra for internet services. I did find the front desk staff and the hospitality staff to be helpful. We stayed and enjoyed a breakfast in the hotel dining room the next day and the wait staff was also excellent

Trip Type: Romance Review 14 of 85Great Experience
The hotel was old but very classy, it had a great deal of character. I loved every minute of it. If i had to complain about anything it would be the size of our room...but i guess you get what you pay for.
