THE POOL WAS OUT OF ORDER

EVERYTHING WAS GREAT, EXCEPT MY KIDS WERE DISAPPOINTED THAT THE POOL WAS OUT OF SERVICE AND THE WAS PART OF THE REASON FOR THE WEEKEND GETAWAY.

To much money for what you get

The package I purchased was to include Parking and Breakfast for 2. When I checked out I received a bill for overnight parking. When I called the front desk I was told that it was a mistake and then was charged a tax instead. I was not expecting to pay that. In addition, when I ordered breakfast I was told that there was a monetary cap on breakfast. The food was very expensive and two people could not eat on the amount given. I was so disappointed. I feel that for the amount of money I paid for one night, the service, lack of courtesy from the front desk and lackadaisical attitude from room service, I will not stay at this hotel again.

The Pool Was Out Of Order

Everything was great except the Pool was Out of Order and the kids were looking forward to swimming.

Shoebox Room

Going through Hotels.com, we got a great rate on the hotel; however, if we would have paid the full price rack rate, I would have been rather irate. The room was no AT MOST 14x8 and the bathroom was only big enough for one person in at a time. It is interesting the photo gallery only show the suites and not the standard guest rooms. We stayed in the hotel because it was the guest hotel for an event we attended. In retrospect, it would have been much better to stay two blocks over at the Hyatt and walk to the Renaissance Hotel.

Understaffed

The hotel is beautiful, and convenient to a lot of nice restaurants and clubs. That said, I had to wait a long time every time I went to or called the front desk. Further, the night that I stayed, there were two people who entered the indoor pool area after the pool closed, and proceeded to yell and scream (in the indoor atrium, so everyone in the hotel was disturbed). I eventually called the front desk to ask whether the pool was supposed to be open, and was told that security was already on their way to the pool area. It took them over fifteen minutes to get there!

Convenient Location; Tired Appearance

For the convention I attended, the location was perfect. Close to the baseball stadium and some restaurants. The hotel itself is old and dingy. My room, while clean and nicely made-up each day, had cigarette burns in the carpet and a couple on the window sheers. Keep your expectations low and you'll be pleased.

Very nice, very quiet, great location to downtown entertainment!
