    They played loud music on the ground floor behind the bar saturday and sunday nights and it was so loud we couldn't sleep. It went on till 12:30 am despite our protest. Also there is no A/C or heat in the rooms and some of the windows can't open so it gets hot.

    Dublin is difficult to navigate due to lack of actual street signs. We called the hotel to get directions and the young lady at the desk only gave us general directions. She put us on hold for about 10 minutes trying to find someone who could help us. We finally arrived at the hotel and the desk clerk was talking to a co-worker for about 5 minutes to what appeared to be a personal conversation. She turned to us and apologized and proceeded to pick up the phone. The other clerk came out and answered the phone and when she was done went back into the office. A gentleman walked behind the clerk and faced the wall looking at papers, while we are still waiting and other guests arrived. After 15 minutes the clerk finally assisted us. When we arrived to the room the door was open and the light above the desk was hanging over the mirror, no longer attached to the wall. They asked for my credit card for any future purchases and I've just checked my bank account and there is a pending charge for the room, which was already pre-paid. Room walls are paper thin so you can hear the guests on either side of your room and the beds are small and hard.

Location. The 18th-century Regency Hotel is located in Dublin, Ireland, within six kilometres of Trinity College and Temple Bar. Dublin International Airport (DUB) is six kilometres away.

Hotel Features. The family owned and operated Regency Hotel occupies a four-storey former stately home, with a large hall containing paintings, period- style furniture, and a mahogany staircase. The hotel has complimentary onsite parking.

The Regency Hotel's Shanard restaurant serves traditional food as well as Asian and Mediterranean-influenced dishes. JJ's All American Bar and Grill offers American cuisine in a family friendly atmosphere. The Appian bar has a traditional pub atmosphere; televised sports; music on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings; and a range of bar food and drinks. Coffee is served in the lounge.

There are five conference and banqueting rooms, accommodating up to 350 people. The largest of these incorporates the conservatory.

The Regency Hotel's multilingual staff can provide information about tours that leave from the hotel, including to the Wicklow Hills and sixth- century Glendalough monastery. A leisure centre provides complimentary use of the pools, steam rooms, fitness equipment, and spa tubs.

The hotel has a conference centre with audio-visual equipment, secretarial services, and wireless Internet access.

Guestrooms. The 210 guestrooms occupy both wings of the Regency Hotel and have bright decor and contrasting dark carpets, mahogany furnishings and rattan-style chairs. South-facing rooms have views of Dublin and the Wicklow Hills. All rooms have cable television and tea/coffee making facilities. Bathrooms have bath/shower combinations, complimentary toiletries and bathrobes.

Expert Tip. The Helix, two kilometres from Dublin's Regency Hotel, is a modern arts centre that hosts a variety of music and performing arts.
