Early morning knock at the door!

The Red Lion Hotel on 5th Ave. is a beautiful, and affordably priced place to stay in Seattle. Unfortunatley, the morning of our departure, I had the maid service knocking on my door at 8:00 am asking when I would be checking out. After repyling to the maid that check out is 12:00, she made a loud groan and said, "Oh my...thats not good." As I tried to return to sleep, I heard the maid knocking on all the doors down the hall asking the same questions to other guests....as well as hearing several slamming doors of unhappy awakened guests.

Great place to stay

Very helpful staff, great location - close to everything. Beautiful view and room - would definitely go here again.

Good Room for the money

The location and room were great. The hotel staff was not very helpful and there are not many amenities in the actual hotel. All in All it was nice to be downtown where it was easy to get to everything.

Good service, thin walls

Service at check in was excellent. Room was clean and well-appointed, though I could not find a drinking glass! They were tucked away in the armoire, and I really had to search. I wonder if they thought I'd just pay the $3 for the bottled water. I forgot my cell phone which I left charging in the wall, and when I returned to ask for it, it had been labled by the staff and I was very glad to see it. My only two complaints were a) noisy guests next door awakened me in the middle of the night. The walls must be pretty thin. b) service at breakfast the next morning was very slow and not particularly friendly.

We were very pleased with all aspects of this hotel. It was very conveniently located. The service was great and it was a very good value for the money

Not a "5," but a solid "4"

The room was very clean and comfortable. The location was great - 2 blocks from the restaurant and 1.5 blocks from my meeting. However, the desk was very small with no space for both computer AND work. Since this was a business trip, work space was important.

Outstanding hotel

Great location with excellent service.

Great Location

This location worked very well for us. I like it's proximity to great shopping, the Space Needle and Pike's Market. Nice accommodations. First trip to Seattle and I loved it. The only drawback, as with others, is the outrageous parking charges, which are even taxed! This is supposedly common for the area. Don't get a car unless you really need one if you stay here.

Great Stay in Seattle

The hotel was very nice and in a great location one block from the Market (A MUST SEE) and two block from the rail to the needle. Across the street is a great deli which is very reasonable priced. The parking is a bit much at $30.00 a day but is in-sink with the rest. Over-all would be my choice again.

Outstanding Hotel and Location

Great Location! Right in the middle of downtown and easy to get everywhere. We walked just about everywhere and took the monorail to the space needle. The hotel gave us a $20 cupon to use at the restaurant for breakfast, and the food was wonderful! Would definately come back again!

Great Place to Stay

This was our second visit to Seattle and did not hesitate to also return to the Red Lion on Fifth Avenue. The location is ideal - within walking distance to most anything on your agenda. The Deluxe room with view of Elliot Bay was excellent. Price was right - staff was friendly and helpful. Will stay here again on our next visit.
