Trip Type: Romance Review 16 of 128OH My!
The hotel is on the beach and has a great location! They rent beach umbrella's and chairs for their guests although limited in quantity, you need to get to the beach early to grab one! The employees in room services were wonderful, very professional and pleasant! That is about the only good things to say! The walls are paper thin and we were tortured for days hearing screaiming infants from early morning into the night next door and yelling parents who did not want to take care of their kids. Housekeeping is an issue and may be due to who is the head of housekeeping. enough said on that one! Overall, it is an old hotel.

Trip Type: Romance Review 20 of 128July 4th weekend
The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Nicole at front desk extremely nice and considerate. Allowed us to check in early when room was available! Room was basically clean except for comforters, which were totally disgusting! Bed and pillows were comfortable...room somewhat noisy and outdated. A couple of restuarants within walking distance. Hotel restaurant poor for the price.

Trip Type: Family Review 21 of 128Clean and convenient
The hotel was very close to the beach and the staff does a very good job keeping it maintained. My family often stay long weekends at the Outer Banks and this was the first btime we stayed at the hotel and I will say it is a very good value for the money.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 24 of 128Great Stay
We had a great stay. We were very satisfied with the pet run area. It was large enough to walk our Yorkies and really like the side entrance to the pet area. It also was very clean!! The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We highly recommend this hotel to other pet owners!

Trip Type: Romance Review 25 of 128Nice hotel for the price
Overall enjoyable visit. I was disappointed with the cliental of the hotel though. Maybe it was just the time of year we stayed or dumb luck but I felt an overwhelming majority of the other guests were of lower class including college age people & frat boys, foul mouthed "white trash", and unsupervised children running wild while the parents were either sun bathing &/or drinking.

Trip Type: Family Review 26 of 128Desperately needs renovation
Hotel Lobby, pool and amenities are run down and outdated. Even though the rooms are ok the overall impression of the hotel is rather that it urgently needs to be renovated.

Trip Type: Family Review 28 of 128Now I know why I don't stay in hotels...
The Ramada Plaza Kitty Hawk, the good, the bad and the ugly The Good. The Ramada Plaza Kitty Hawk is a large 5 story hotel situated right on the beach off of beach road (rt 12). it has about 30 rooms per floor with the even numbered rooms facing the ocean and the odd numbered rooms facing the parking lot (they say that they face Virginia Dare Trail but let's be honest...they face the parking lot) The Ramada has chairs and umbrellas for their guests to use on the beach and they have quite the nice series of wooden walkways across the dunes with a bar for guests to use. They have an indoor pool with some kind of jacuzzi. The have an on site restaurant that is supposed to serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, but check ahead of time. Rooms on the 3rd floor and higher have a wonderful view of the ocean (of course, ocean side rooms only) with the 1st and 2nd floors being limited to viewing the dunes. The lobby is spacious and clean. On sunday, they had out punch and cookies...I don't know if it was for all guests, but nobody complained when I had several glasses of punch and a few chocolate chip cookies. One corner of the lobby is occupied by Sabrina the cockatoo. While pleasant to look at, Sabrina will bite you. If you approach her cage, she will innocently offer her foot indicating that she wants to sit on your hand or arm. Do so at your own risk. She will bite and she will draw blood. She particularly likes the loose skin around the knuckles and will grab hold of this skin and pinch it in her beak and grind away until she comes away with a chunk of skin... They offer all the standard amenities including fridge, microwave and hairdryer, but they also have wi-fi internet access, although it's only 10Base-t connection. The Bad. If you go on vacation to relax and perhaps to sleep in a little, you will not be able to sleep in here. Promptly at 8am, the slamming door symphony starts as families with children rampage down the halls towards the elevators. If you are one of those

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 30 of 128Not outstanding but OK
The location was good midway on the beach, we thought we had a ocean view room but instead we had a dune view room. The front desk lady moved us to the 3rd floor so we would be happy, she upgraded us for free. just so you know do not take any floor below 3 if you want an oceanview
