The lady who checked us in was eating and was rude . The hotel needs a lot of cosmetic repairs on the upper floors. We stayed on the second floor and it had a horrible smell. The cold water barely worked in the shower so beware. The WIfi had a horrible connection. There was dirty clothes left from a previous stay in the dresser. As for the location , someone previously stated It was about 8 miles from the zoo.. its more like 26 miles. The breakfast was ok , waffles , fruit , yogurt and bagels . The breakfast area is set up poorly so you kinda have to squeeze behind columns to get to the food. If you don't care about any of that .. then it was fine ....

The staff was wonderful. The room was big. It was a great hotel to stay at.

Its cheap, atleast the bed was clean. Tipical Ramamda, days inn, laquinta inn scent. (stale and old) there was a condom in my trash can when I got in my room. This is why I spend too much money to stay at other hotels.

Trip Type: Business Review 20 of 184Good room for the money
This hotel met my needs fine. It was not very fancy by any means, and did smell a little funny, but the rooms were clean and the staff was friendly. The free airport shuttle was very convenient, as I used it several times. The pool was closed for reconstruction during my visit so I did not get the opportunity to see it. The fitness room was small and had a limited amout of equipment, but satisfactory for a short hotel stay. Breakfast consisted of waffles, cereal, yogurt, pastries, and some fruit. Staff was very nice and allowed me to stay 2 hours after my scheduled check out since I had a late flight leaving St. Louis. Hotel is very close to airport. There aren't many restaurants or anything else nearby though. I would stay here again.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 21 of 184Amazing Location and great price
The hotel is near the airport and that may scare some people away. Don't let it. It was extremely quiet and really convenient. It was nearly 5 mins from EVERYWHERE (Zoo, Park, Ampitheatre, Wal-mart, Jack-in-the-box, mall, etc.) Breakfast was a normal hotel's breakfast muffins, toast, 1 waffle maker, juice and coffee. The halls were kind of muggy and warm but who cares you stay in them for like 2 mins. The clerks were fairly nice and really helpful on directions. Definately recommend this to everyone looking for a good deal.

Trip Type: Family Review 22 of 184Needs Improvement is a big understament
This hotel is very hard to find according to internet directions and it took two calls and 45 minutes to get us there from the interstate. Upon arriving at the hotel the first thing you notice is the horrible smell and the ripped off baseboards in the lobby. Next thing we were disappointed about was to find the pool was "under repair." I felt like I should have been informed of that when I booked my room. I would not of stayed there simply for that fact because we were on a family vacation and were looking for a decent, reasonably priced hotel with a pool. The first night we tried to get more towels and a pillow and besides my husband and son being greeted by the front desk clerk who had just been assaulted by her boyfriend and made that known, we were told that they were out of towels and pillows and were given the towel mats for the floor to use. There was mold on the ceiling in the bathroom, toothpaste crusted in the corner by the sink and the room smelled very musty and smoky even though it was a nonsmoking room. The air conditioning did not work downstairs in the lobby/breakfast area. We were told the maintenance people were backed up and they were sorry but did not know when it would be fixed. There were panels missing in the elevators exposing lighting and wires. Needless to say this hotel is no diamond in the rough. We managed by staying out from the time we woke up until we were ready for bed. If you are going on vacation with your family or staying with more than a night I don't recommend here.

Our room had the toliet paper dispenser broken off and no handle on the folding closet door. Very inconvenient and just gave a bad impression.

Right next to airport, make sure you request a room on a lower level so that overflying planes wont keep you up. Great Breakfast

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 29 of 184Needs Improvement
The room itself was an ok great price for what you get and the staff was courtious. The Hotel itself.. .needs improvement. While walking down the hall the electrical outlets were hanging off the wall with exposed wires. While this normally would not bother me.. while walking down the stairs the fire hoses are missing from their holders completely. The room: Ac could not quite handle the room as it was about 80 in the room when we walked in and still warm the next morning. The curtain was broke and would not open. The remote to the T.V. was inoperative as the batteries were missing.. once we put some in it worked fine. Room was clean and beds comfortable. The hallways and elevator were on the other hand not clean. Pool is closed for remodeling.. I think that whole building is. I just hope they do a remodel on this building. Also 3 towels in room for 2 double beds... we called for additional towels at 7 am and the staff informed us they were out and they would bring later. At 10 am checking out they still had not arrived.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 30 of 184Ignore the Driving Directions
This was a great hotel, but I was so frustrated trying to get there I almost cried. You can see it from the freeway but you can't get to it without making a series of strange turns that are not mentioned in the driving directions. I had to ask four locals before I was finally able to get reliable directions. Once I found my way the first time, it got easier. The restaurant and bar are closed and there is nothing within walking distance so come prepared. The room was fantastic, though.
