    THE HOTEL GAVE US TWO DRINK VOUCHERS TO USE ,BUT THE BAR WAS CLOSED WHILE WE STAYED THERE.THE HOTEL RESTAURANT WAS CLOSED AND WE WERE TOLD IT WAS NOT SAFE FOR US TO GO INTO TOWN,SO WE HAD NO CHOICE BUT TO PAY THIRTY DOLLARS EACH FOR THE HOTEL VALENTINE SPECIAL,FOR A BUFFET DINNER WE DID NOT CARE FOR AND DRINKS WHERE EXTRA.WE HAD TO SIT AT A LARGE TABLE WITH OTHER PEOPLE THAT SPOKE NO ENGLISH AND WE SPOKE NO SPANISH.WE STAYED AT THE NEW HOTEL WASHINGTON TWO NITES BEFORE THAT WAS WONDERFUL FOR A FRACTION OF THE COST OF RADDISON COLON.

Location. The Radisson Hotel Colon is located in Colon, Panama. The hotel is less than two kilometers from downtown Colon and the free zone, which offers more than 800 acres of duty-free shopping. The city of Portobelo, 32 kilometers from the hotel, was discovered in 1502 by Christopher Columbus and features the ruins of old forts.

Hotel Features. At the hotel, Drake's Restaurant offers international cuisine. Dining options include a cafeteria, deli, lobby bar and lounge, and Morgan's Pool Bar & Grill. A casino is on site. The hotel features an outdoor pool, children's pool, steam room, sauna and a fitness center. Wireless Internet access is provided for a fee in public areas, and a business center is available.

Guestrooms. Guestrooms include private bathrooms and air conditioning. Rooms are equipped with cable television and complimentary high-speed Internet access. Accommodations open to balconies or terraces.

Expert Tip. The Church of San Felipe in Portobelo was built by Spaniards in 1814. The church houses a statue of Jesus called "The Black Christ" for the wood from which it was carved.
