Trip Type: With Friends Review 1 of 35High Quality and Good Value
Clean, bright, and confortable -- and a great price for London. Great featues, including new bathrooms and televisions and careful service. Although not in the most exciting part of town, the location is very convenient with a Tube station and several shops nearby. In walking distance to several areas with stores, museums, and restaurants.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 2 of 35Not Bad
The room was small, especially the bathroom. You had to sit on the toilet sideways because the sink was so close to it. Our room wasn't easy to get to. It seemed we had to go through a maze of doors and hallways to get to it. But it was nice. The staff was very helpful. Not very convenient for sightseeing but the metro station was about a minute walk away.

The room was kind of small and not easy to get to. It seemed like it was at the end of a maze: so many turns and doors to go thru. Other than that it was fine.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 4 of 35Good Hotel
This was a very good hotel. Great price and service. Very close to the tube and you can get everywhere. The only issue was that our room smelled a little musty. We would stay there again.

Trip Type: Business Review 6 of 35Small, but charming
Rooms are a little tight, even by London standards, but they are well laid out. The bathroom was regular sized, but the rest of the room, not so much. You need a GPS unit to find some of the rooms--I counted 18 turns, four doors, and three flights of stairs between my room and the lobby. But it was a very good value for the money, near the Tube, near a number of museums, and generally well kept. Also, if you are used to the great Asira amenities you normally get at Radisson, you'll be disappointed.
Hotel Response
Dear Reviewer, Thank you very much for taking the time out to write a review about your experience with us at the Radisson Edwardian Vanderbilt hotel. I am very pleased to read that overall you did enjoy your stay with us. The hotel does have a different layout from regular hotels, due to the fact that the building was not purpose built. Indeed we are very lucky with the location of the hotel, with many great attractions and restaurants within walking distance. Thank you very much for pointing that out I am sure this will be very useful to some of our future guest. I look forward to welcoming you back to the Radisson Edwardian Vanderbilt hotel in the near future. Regards,

Trip Type: Business Review 7 of 35Small
I have stayed in many European Hotels with small rooms. This room is the smallest. This room was so small the door hit the bed when I entered. The chair at the desk could not be slid out. I had to stand on the bed to iron because the ironing board took all the space between the bed and wall. Stay away from room 421. Not a 4 star hotel.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 8 of 35Good Place to Stay
My wife and I found the hotel staff very friendly & helpful. The room was very clean and well arranged although small, (but not by London standards). The bar & resterant personnel were very friedly and the srevice was good. The breakfest was very good. The location was great. The only thig we didn't like was the bed, it was hard and uncomfortable & the pillows were very thin. Over all we thought this hotel was a great value, we would stay here again.

Trip Type: Family Review 10 of 35Nice accommodations, good location
This hotel is nice and convenient and the tube station is close by. Lots of traffic on street, hard to get any sleep at night. Room and bathroom clean and customer service very good. I would stay here again, but don't want a room off the street.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 11 of 35Great room for the money
We stayed in the hotel for 7 nights in March, 2009, the room was pretty small, comparing to what we are used to in the US, but perfectly fine for 2 people. There is a minibar, that could be used as a refrigerator. Price of the breakfast buffet is 16 GBP per person, so we chose to buy our cheese and bread from the near by supermarket and enjoyed the breakfast in the comfort of our own room. There was no coffee maker in our room, but there was a kettle instead and I guess we could request the coffeemaker from the front desk people, that are very responsive. The underground station is less then a quarter mile away. Heathrow is easily accessible, so you don't have to spend extra money for a taxi to get from and to the airport. The bathroom was very small and had it's issues, but there is everything you need there, including body wash, shampoo, shower cap and a robe. They have a business center downstairs with 2 computers and a printer, there is also high speed wireless internet connection in the rooms. If you need power adapter for your laptop, ask for it at the front desk. There are several restaurants and a Starbucks very close to the hotel.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 12 of 35Great Hotel and Location
Great hotel and location. we couldn't have had a better location. Now what wasn't outstanding was the service provided by some of the hotel personnel. Out of the 5 or 6 employees we dealt with, only 2 were helpful with all of our needs (and they were not many). the other employees either didn't want to be bothered or just didn't know. Example. I couldn't make a phone call from the room. Reason why? Well you need to leave a credit card as deposit. Was I informed? no, until I called, complained I couldn't make a call from the room and then was informed of the credt card requirement. Other than that, the hotel is great, clean, and in an upscale area. Walking distant (15-20 minutes) on Cromwell Road to Harrod's. Train station is 1 block away.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 15 of 35Great Value and Locationfor the Price
The hotel is only about a block from the Underground and located close to the V&A Museum. My room was comfortable; had the electric water pot so convenient for making that first cup of coffee in the morning. The staff was very helpful...I arrived about 7 am from Heathrow expecting to just leave my luggage and disappear until 2pm check-in time but the desk clerk gave me a room straightaway. (This was partly due to availability..it was January..but this gesture was still much appreciated!) The concierge also helped me book a shuttle return to Heathrow rather than have me do it myself. Downsides: One tiny postage stamp size elevator; the wait at peak times could be lengthy. Local phone charges for calls made from one's room were exhorbitant..60 pence a minute or part thereof! I would imagine that this is standard to London hotels but it was still a shock!! No phone by the bedside. Gratis morning newspaper promised but never delivered.
