Trip Type: Business Review 1 of 31Ok for the money - good location
Nothing exceptional. Service is spotty and breakfast is bad, but rooms are ok and clean.

Trip Type: Business Review 2 of 31Business hotel at a very convenient location
The hotel is not very large, but it has everything the business traveler needs: free wireless internet in the room, a convenient lacation right next to the Siquiera Campos metro station, and a programmable safe in the room. The rooftop (17th floor) pool is small, but well-maintained. The breakfast buffet is included and quite nice.

It was a very nice hotel. Clean and modern. Will stay again.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 4 of 31Not the most comfortable place
The hotel is a good location, 5 minute walk to Copacabana beach but that its only plus point. The front desk staff is not the friendliest. The room I got had two twin beds in it and it didn't have the cleanest look. Overall, not bad for the money though I would not stay there again.

Trip Type: Business Review 5 of 31Safe and not too expensive choise
Staying at the oceanfront in Copacabana can be quite expensive and one can as well stay a few blocks further up. As a matter of fact this hotel is right on the metro stop which is particularly good for people concerned about safety. The staff is helpful although most willing to help you spend money with their tours. There is a decent complimentary breakfast buffet. The complimentary wireless internet connection was weak at most places but they eventually gave me a room where it worked fine (not too high speeds though). Most wall socekts accept NEMA 1-15 (US two flat pin) and type C ("Europlug" two narrow round pins) plugs but there is also a NEMA 5-15 one (US american with earthing prong). The tours they offer (to sugar loaf etc) are with other hotels and better prized than some of the travel agencies.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 7 of 31Great service, less optimal location
A group of coworkers planned a trip to Rio and the boys booked another hotel, the Lancaster Orlon, and the girls selected the Premiere Copacabana. The Copacabana was a nice hotel, the staff was fantastic, incredibly helpful. But the boys' hotel was a much better location right on the beach for about the same price. Although the facility and rooms were nice at the Premiere, really the location in Rio is what it's about.

Trip Type: Business Review 8 of 31Good value
Hotel is four blocks from beach across street from Metro station. Generally clean and spacious rooms, good service and very nice complementary breakfast. Pool was being serviced, but it was "winter" in Rio, so not a major downer. All in all a good value.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 9 of 31A very fine hotel at a very good price
I enjoyed Rio as much as I did in large measure because of the helpful staff at the Premier Copacabana Hotel. They provided excellent information about the city and went out of their way to see to it that I had a wonderful stay in Rio. Although it is six blocks from the beach, the hotel is conveniently located across the street from the Siqueira Campos Metro and a bus stop that takes you anywhere you want to go in the city. I especially liked the hearty buffet breakfast that came with the room and the cozy bar that was the perfect place for a cocktail after a busy day.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 11 of 31Good hotel, poor service
This was more of a business hotel than I had expected, but overall good place to stay. Great bargain for the area. Service was really bad. I stood at the front desk for more than 5 minutes while the attendant spoke on the phone and then proceeded to periodically answer the phone before eventually passing me on to someone else. The room was great although small. The location is slightly out of the way.

Trip Type: Family Review 12 of 31Great for the money
Hotel is very quiet on a busy street three long blocks from the beach. Staff was very helpful in getting us orientated to the town. The room staff never caught on to the fact there were three of us (all paid for) so we had to ask for towels and toilet paper every day. Nice city view from the rooftop pool area. DO NOT do the samba show the hotel pushes---it is a rip off.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 13 of 31A good value for the money.
I would consider the Premier Copacabana Hotel a budget hotel with the comfort you'd expect of something just above a Ramada Inn or Novotel. The daily breakfast that is included in your stay definitely makes it a better value. The pool is small and on the rooftop, and you need to climb stairs to access it. If you are expecting great views of Copacabana beach, quick beach access, and friendly front desk personnel that can guide you around greater Rio, then keep looking.

Staff was nice, but hotel was definitely geared towards Brazilian business men. No English TV. Would not be comfortable walking neighborhood at night.

Trip Type: Family Review 15 of 31disappointment of expectations in old hotel
For two parents and a grown daughter, we wanted a king size bed and an extra bed, but could only get three twin beds. On the first day, we got a 2"x1" soap and two small 1" bottles of shampoo, no conditioner. On the second day, the hand towels given on first day were removed. In the bathroom, the shower area has no lights and the mirror area lights are inadequate for shaving. The airconditioner has to be manually adjusted, no remote control available. The breakfast area staff are indifferent or hostile. The hotel registration staff are not cooperative in instructing their subordinates or taxi drivers in Portuguese to enable English-only guests to get to the airport. When they are asked to instruct the taxi driver to take us to the airport bus route, the registration staff tell us there is no airport bus, and later we did in fact take the airport bus from the location nearest to the hotel.
