Trip Type: With Friends Review 1 of 3Place to stay.
This really isn't a hotel as much as it is a room to stay in. If a room is all you're looking for this is a good deal. If you're looking for a room and all the amenities that come with a decent hotel, I suggest you look elsewhere. Towels for our room didn't show up until day two of our stay so I suggest you bring your own just in case. Overall it was what I expected for the price, the surrounding neighborhood is nice with many restaurants and a couple bars. The beach is literally 50 feet from the front entrance and it's a five minute walk from the Loyola stop on the red line.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 3 of 3Barebones, but livable
My husband and I were surprised to find our room with two twin beds pushed together instead of one larger bed. Each had a pillow and sheets, but no blanket. This was not a problem since it was so warm, but if you're staying in the winter, I'd ask to make sure they have blankets. There was a nice TV with only a couple of working channels, a little kitchen area with a working stove and non-working microwave and fridge, and there was a lamp that didn't turn on because the knob was broken off. There is free wireless that can be accessed by one person at a time. Since we spent most of our time outside of the apartment (and there was an amazing coffee shop down the street with free wi-fi) the inconvenient points of this hotel weren't such a big deal. There were hot showers with good water pressure, and that's probably the most important thing. Make sure you read the instructions on the confirmation sheet when you get them. You're supposed to call 48 hours in advance to get instructions on how to get your room keys when you arrive. I called 24 hours in advance and had no problem - just make sure you call before 8PM when the office closes.
