Great room for the money

Spectacular hotel, however, service, particularly room service, was spotty.

Piece of history, but away from what's hapening...

There are two parts to the hotel, the old part and the new part. We were attracted to the old palatial rooms which are advertised on the website. We were put in the new section, with rooms much smaller and less grandeur and no history. When asked if there were rooms available in the palace itself, the old section, we were told only the most expensive rooms were available at a very expensive 2,000+ euros per night. Somewhat deceptive advertising in my opinion. The Barcelona football team (with family members) was staying there the nights we were there and were to play the Lisbon team in the playoffs. They did take a lot of rooms, but we had booked our room over a month earlier. Location is a 20 min tram or bus ride to the main part of town, and the stop is within 3 blocks of the hotel. Staff was very courteous, and the concierge was very helpful.

This will be our place to stay in Lisbon

We were very pleased with our recent stay at the Palace. The hotel is absolutely beautiful. It is not centrally located, but there was a tram only a short walk away so we were easily able to take public transportation into the heart of the city. The rooms in the newer part of the hotel where we stayed were pleasant, and I gave it a 4 because our hairdryer was broken. The breakfast was very good and the setting was very enjoyable. We love old architecture and one has to be in awe of this building.

Outstanding Hotel

Outstanding in every sense. Although it is located in a residential neighbourhood is rather distant from downtown. The management makes it up by offering a complimentary shuttle service every two hours.
