Trip Type: With Friends Review 1 of 212Just Okay
Location & Atmosphere: This hotel was a bit far from the center of the city. Also, in general this hotel had the feeling of a cheap "spring break" style hotel...there were a lot of young people and in general the decor and atmosphere was outdated and a bit rough around the edges. The beaches on this end of town tend to have more local bums spending time there, the beaches near the Royal Hawaiin are much better for atmosphere and the type of people. The hotel decor is tired, which makes it not feel quite as clean. If this is the only hotel available in your budget, it will serve the purpose. If you are looking for a very clean and relaxing oasis, I think you will be dissapointed. On my trip I also stayed at the Sheraton Princess for the same price (actually slightly less), and felt that location was much better and the experience overall there was better. Hotel Staff: The evening staff were friendlier and more responsive than the day staff. My traveling companion checked in before me, and left a key at the desk. When I got it, the clerk gave me the wrong room key, I walked into a mans room!!! The staff did not really appologize or offer anything to make up for this scary error. At times the day staff were actually rude and terse. Traveling With a Car: On the positive, there is a zoo parking lot just across the street, so if you rent a car you can stash it there for a few hours at a time for a few coins...and the road the hotel is on does lead right to the highway, so that was convenient. To park a car overnight is valet only. (cant park overnight in zoo lot)

Trip Type: With Friends Review 2 of 212Annoyance Rectified
Upon checking in, I had requested a king sized bed and was told there weren't any. When arriving at our room, the noise from the adjacent room was overwhelming, ie kids. I asked to be moved and was told that the only room available was a room with a king sized bed! Now why didn't they give me that larger room from the get go?

Trip Type: Family Review 3 of 212Best location, Great views!
Desk service was very friendly and helpful. There is a bit of street noise, but not much more than is expected in Waikiki. It was worth it for the view and location. We liked being so close to Diamond Head and the beaches at Kapiolani Park. Great zoo too! This will be our hotel choice for Waikiki from now on.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 5 of 212Great Value
Although the hotel is a little tattered in some places- it is clean and comfortable. The neighborhood is quieter than the middle areas of Waikiki beach and it is very accessible to dining and the beach. Overall it is a great value as most people don't spend all that much time in their room when they are in Hawaii!

Trip Type: Romance Review 8 of 212Hope your not staying to sleep here
The price was "somewhat affordable" at 150$ or so a night, and the location was right across from waikiki beach. Now thats all I can say that is good. Pool closes around 6ish PM (at sundown) and the hotel rooms feel like tiny closets. The beds are not even queens, like the website claimed, they are fulls, so you get to "squeeze" together, on a bed that taco's up. The center of the bed was so soft and sunk, i had to request more pillows just to feel like i was "laying" instead of sitting. The TV didn't have any channels programmed, you had to manually select any channel you wanted to watch rather than UP or DOWN. The view out the balcony was acceptable and nice, but the room left me with back aches. I will never stay here again, the halls were filled with noise by 7am. Sleep was just not "available" so only stay in this hotel if you want a "storage" area for your luggage while in honolulu!

Trip Type: Family Review 10 of 212Quality Hotel
There is one thing I am not happy with; when I told the security guard that my next door made loud noise. He was kind of ignorant of what I was complaining about.

Hotel is a little "tired", location and staff were great. Rooms were clean. Would stay here again.

Trip Type: Family Review 12 of 212Great location
Overall we had a good experience. Room was a bit small for a family but we just needed a place to sleep at night. Next time I would opt for a suite. Great location if you want to explore Waikiki and also close to public parking if you have visitors. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 13 of 212Great room for the money!
Do not expect this hotel to be like a 5 star hotel - it isn't but the price isn't either! We had a great room on the ninth floor. We got a free upgrade to an ocean front room, which had a fantastic view of the beach and the pier. The room was bigger than our friends room, which was also on the ninth floor but was an ocean view room. The employees were all nice and helpful. The bathroom was bright and clean, and although there wasn't an outlet in there, there was one right outside the bathroom in a vanity area with a big mirror, so I didn't have to worry about a steamed up mirror from the shower while I was blow-drying and putting on make-up. We also saved on the valet fee by parking for free on the road right in front of the zoo.(drive past the hotel towards the beach and make a left at the light and stay to the left) The hotel definitely could use all sorts of renovations, but then the price would reflect that! Ask for one of the more recently updated rooms on the 6th or 9th floor and you can't go wrong with this hotel!
