Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 16 of 212Great room for money
Great location, decent hotel for price right on the corner of the main strip with decent parking across the street in the Zoo lot if you don't want to pay the $28 valet parking.

Trip Type: Family Review 17 of 212Great location for the money
I thought it was an awesome spot. Right between the beach and the zoo. The hotel room is clean and comfortable even if it is a little old. I just go there to sleep so it was perfectly fine for me. The Japanese restaurant on the first floor was spectacular. I ate there every day trying out different stuff and they usually give you a free appetizer. The only thing that I didn't like is that on weekends, the hotel next door plays very loud music at night. I can hear it loud and clear and I was on the 18th floor. Can't really go to sleep until after 12 am. overall, I am very satisfied.

Room was simple, but clean. Would have been uncomfortable with more than one person. Don't recommend using this hotel if you have a car. I was fortunate to use the parking lot across the street and saved the $20.00 a day parking. Also think charging a dollar a day for coffee is a little over the top since hotel amenities are non-existent. Would have been unhappy had I paid more per night than I did. Bed was comfortable. Hotel obviously is used hard and really needs an upgrade.

Trip Type: Romance Review 19 of 212Great!
The location was perfect. The view was spectacular!! The bed was actually really comfortable. The staff was great for the most part. The biggest complaint we have was just that we didn't know about the mandatory valet parking, with the associated daily fee (it would have been nice to have planned for that). All in all, we loved it, and we would definitely stay there again. :)

Don't waste money on the more expensive hotels next door. The Park shore has the same awesome locaton for 1/2 the price literally. Hawaii is all about the beaches anyway so we bascially just slept in the room. Its small but we didn't care. It's clean and the location is a 10 out of 10.

The hotel rooms were very, very small and the hotel in gernal is old. However, the hotel staff was wonderful. Extremely friendly and helpful.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 22 of 212Comfortable Hotel in Great Location
My sister and I had a poolside room at the Park Shore. The staff was extrememly friendly and accommodating. The room was very spacious and comfortable, but the early morning vehicle noises can be annoying. You might feel sleep-deprived. Otherwise, the location was great and close to everything, including public transportation.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 25 of 212Great location, but needs renovation
Our stay in the hotel was very pleasant. The hotel is right across the street from the beach, and adjacent to the zoo. There are many nice restaurants within walking distance. The hotel room lacked, however, in adequate lighting in the bathroom, and the air-conditioning was weak. My fiance couldn't apply her make-up in the bathroom because the light was a neon yellow. The bathroom also lacked electrical outlets for her hair dryer or hair irons. The hotel did have a wonderful Japanese restaurant in the lobby. My fiance is Japanese and her parents were visiting from Japan. We dined at the Japanese restaurant a few times because it was so authentic, I highly recommend eating there. Over-all our experience was nice. The staff are very courteous and willing to help. I would stay at the hotel in the future, but only if there is some renovation to the bathrooms and air-conditioning in the rooms.

Trip Type: Family Review 26 of 212GREAT LOCATION
I'VE STAYED AT THIS HOTEL IN THE PAST AND LOVE THE LOCATION, IT'S DIRECTLY ACROSS FROM THE OCEAN. OCEAN VIEW ROOMS WITH BALCONY ARE VERY AFFORDABLE FOR WAIKIKI. THE HOTEL IS A LITTLE OLDER, BUT VERY CLEAN. "FRANK," THE ASSIST MGR. GAVE US A VERY PERSONAL WELCOME, AND WAS ABLE UPGRADE OUR ROOM.

Trip Type: Romance Review 27 of 212A Disapointment
The only good thing was the location, right across from the beach and near the zoo. This hotel needs major renovations.

Inside guest rooms: Walls and counters are beat up. Bathroom was dark and "unfriendly."

Trip Type: Family Review 30 of 212A place to sleep, if only the rooms were as nice as the lobby
The location is great! If you are looking for just a cheap place to stay for a few nights, this is it. The bathroom has a lot to be desired. Felt very dirty. None of the electrical outlets worked in the bathroom area We called maintenance everyday for 3 days but it was never fixed. We had one outlet by the bed to charge camera batteries, cell phones, dry or curl your hair - with no mirror, and use the coffee pot. A little inconvenience. The lobby is beautiful - don't let that get your hopes up for the room. We were "upgraded" to a room with the view of the ocean - there was a large air conditioning unit out our window, if you could see above the AC unit, you could see water. I wouldn't want to spend an entire week there - it is not real comfortable, but a few days, if you're looking for cheap, is fine. The person at the desk to help plan excursions was not helpful. Do some reading on your own before you go. The hours that they are available to book things is only during the day, when you are already off doing something else. So plan well in advance. The restaraunt was very good, not overly priced for burgers etc, large portions - easily could've been shared by two - and a nice ocean view. The location again is a great place to catch the buses for trips - only a short walk to the other end of the block. If you are using a cab to get back to the airport, call ahead (the guy in the lobby will make the arrangements for you) they were very late picking us up - almost missed our flight.
