Park Place Hotel

OK hotel but not happy with the room.

OK but the room we had was not the nicest. We ended up in a handicap-accessible room next to the elevator and the maintenance room. We will not stay here again. Location is great but we felt that the room was old and shabby. The shower leaked so much that the floor was saturated after each shower. Not impressed.

Needs updating

The bathtub was filthy. We didnt even step foot into it! The duvets were spotted. The carpets had stains. Everything was nice to look at...till you looked closer. Rooms are in need of major renovation. Location was excellent. Within walking distance to the beach, shops, and restaurants. Staff was friendly with the exception of the bartendars. They were more interested in hanging out with their own friends than serving guests drinks. I wont be back to the Park Place anytime soon.

Getting a bit shabby

There were pluses and minuses in staying at the Park Place. The staff were super friendly, the location was great and Minerva's was excellent and quite the bargain. The room was rather shabby, the bed was truly uncomfortable and the shower was horrible. Nio pressure and really in need of an upgrade. The door to our room had dark foot prints on it as if someone had repeatedly tried to kick the door in. And there was a dirty glass and plate in the hall next to our door from the minute we checked in until we left.

Fabulous location made for a great vacation

Everything about the Park Place was wonderful. From the comfortable bed to the accomodating staff, this hotel was worth every penny. Best of all though, was it's location. We were within easy walking distance of the lovely shops and restaurants of downtown Traverse City as well as the marina and waterfront parks. Even in heels, I could walk to my favorite hot spot comfortably and never have to worry about driving home.

location, location, location

Being a former resident of TC, we loved staying downtown within walking distance of great dining, shopping, activity and sites. The Top of the Park brings back wonderful memories while enjoying the view. If you are looking for a modern expansive hotel room, the Park Place rooms and bathrooms are small.

Convenient to Downtown

Park Place is an older hotel but was comfortable all the same. We chose a "tower" room after being offered the older or newer sections of the hotel. Regal looking lobby and desk area. Updated bed linens helped. Old TVs though. Not able to hook up our Wii game in room. Good stay for five days overall.

Good but not great.

This is a good hotel with a fantastic location. I, however, expected somthing much nicer. It did not have a feel of "old quality" that I was lead to expect. The staff were adequately pleasant, not wonderful.

Great Location

Wonderful location for tourists that want to shop, stroll downtown or along the beach. Hotel is old but still very elegant. View from the bar on the 10th floor is a must.

Great Swimming Pool

Everyone of us loves the swimming pool. It looks clean and feels clean. The water is warm and comfortable. We have a joined room with door in between two rooms. The two rooms are large, for the kids to run around. Everything is good except the service desk is not friendly (may be because I got discount rate from Hotels.com).

The Park Place is a fabulous, classic hotel.

Everywhere we went from the front desk to the pool, we were met with warm, welcoming staff. If you are going to Traverse City, the Park Place is the LOCATION to be, we could walk everywhere we needed to go. It is the place we will always want to go back to time and again. Absolutely perfect and this trip we took our children ages 5 and 8.
