    OK but the room we had was not the nicest. We ended up in a handicap-accessible room next to the elevator and the maintenance room. We will not stay here again. Location is great but we felt that the room was old and shabby. The shower leaked so much that the floor was saturated after each shower. Not impressed.

    The bathtub was filthy. We didnt even step foot into it! The duvets were spotted. The carpets had stains. Everything was nice to look at...till you looked closer. Rooms are in need of major renovation. Location was excellent. Within walking distance to the beach, shops, and restaurants. Staff was friendly with the exception of the bartendars. They were more interested in hanging out with their own friends than serving guests drinks. I wont be back to the Park Place anytime soon.

Location. The Park Place Hotel is located in Traverse City, Mich., less than two blocks from shops and cafes on Front Street. West Bay Beach is two blocks from the hotel. The Great Lakes Children's Museum is one-half mile away. The city is known for producing cherries and wine grapes. Bowers Harbor Vineyards and the winery, Chateau Grand Traverse, are within 10 miles. Traverse City is on Grand Traverse Bay at the base of Leelanau and Old Mission peninsulas.

Hotel Features. Minervas Restaurant and Bar at the Park Place Hotel serves cocktails, steak and seafood. The eatery's specialty is its white chicken chili. Coloring books and crayons are provided for children. The hotel's Beacon Lounge is located on the 10th floor and offers views of the city and the bay. The lounge features live entertainment Thursdays through Saturdays. More than 12,000 square feet of meeting and convention space is available at the hotel. Complimentary wireless Internet access is provided in the meeting rooms which accommodate groups of 5 to 500 people. For gatherings, the hotel offers a chocolate fountain with dark or white chocolate. The hotel includes an indoor pool, sauna and a fitness center.

Guestrooms. Guestrooms at the Park Place Hotel feature Victorian-style furnishings and armoires. Bedding includes throw pillows and bolster pillows. Coffeemakers and mini-refrigerators are provided. Guestrooms are equipped with cable television and wireless Internet access.

Expert Tip. The Park Place Hotel's Beacon Lounge offers "Martini Night" each Tuesday.
