great room for the money

we had a view of the lake and enjoyed seeing the sunrise. Room was very clean, if a little outdated.

Not bad, Not great

For the price it was fine. We only needed a room for the night due to checkup's the next day at Shand's. It is old and a little run down, but not bad. Could hear everytime the room next door turned on the shower or flushed the toilet. The bed was comfortable and lots of pillows, which I like. The restaurant is pricey and not a very big selection. Service is great though.

Great Hotel

We got upgraded to a larger lake front suite within minutes of arrival at our surprise. They granted us a late check out of 1pm which was an added plus. The staff were very friendly and the location is just a two minute drive to UF's beautiful campus. I give this hotel 3.5 stars.I will be back to stay at the Paramount Plaza Hotel and Suites soon! Thanks

Needs Improvement

I was a bit nervous about booking my room at the Paramount Plaza Hotel but when I read some reviews that it was renovated I thought it would be fine. When I arrived I was disappointed to see that it was definitely not renovated and the room was okay, a bit dingy/old the best feature was the lake view with alligators swimming. I will not be re visiting this hotel.

Great large room and view

Ask for a room with a view of the lake. Large suite. Lighting was poor, but otherwise a great deal for the money.

Saw the largest cockroach of my life

As I opened the door to the room I was greeted by the largest cockroach I had ever seen in my life -- it had to be an inch and a half long. Overall, this hotel is a two-star joint at best, perhaps a 1.5-star joint -- hotels.com, what are you thinking giving it 3 stars?

Older Renovated Hotel

This is an older hotel, but has been renovated and for the most part is fresh looking. The grounds were nice and well kept. The rooms were comfortable and for the price we had a satisfactory stay.

Nice hotel

great room for the money. not to far from UF campus and good restaurants within 5 minute car ride. gave us a free upgrade to bigger room. parking is ample and free.
