    Fairly cheap for Barcelona standards in terms of price, definitely no frills but the neighborhood was safe enough and a great location. Easy walking distance to Las Ramblas, El Barrio Gothic, El Diagonal, and all the Gaudi Buildings. A bit further walk to the beach and the marina, but public transport is literally right outside the door so it is very simple and easy to get around from this hotel. For the price paid, very reasonable accomodations, though bring a hair dryer and an iron if you should need one! They do have them, but are usually in use and hard to get a hold of! The one minor set back to this hotel. Otherwise good deal for price paid.

Hotel Parallel in Barcelona is tucked away in a small lane just off the busy Avinguda del Parallel. The hotel is a 15- minute walk from La Ramblas, the old town and the cathedral. Rooms are bright and modern, featuring simple pine furniture, red bedspreads, fireplaces and large mirrors. All 66 guestrooms have private bathrooms with bidets, direct-dial phones, cable television and dial-up Internet connections.

Guests of the Parallel can unwind in the TV room after a day of sightseeing. The hotel's miltilingual staff can help guests book tours and theatre tickets, organize dry cleaning services and give access to the business center, with its free Internet connection. Although there is no bar or restaurant at the hotel, staff can point guests in the direction of the numerous drinking and dining hot spots of Barcelona.
