    The Hotel Palacio De Sonanes is a beautiful Baroque Palace re-done into a hotel placed in a quiet but beautiful valley. We regret we did not make arrangements for at least one more day. Cristina, the receptionist, was very amiable and provided us with access to a computer for a few minutes. The room was very ample for European standards. The ambiance was warm, clean and homey. The continental breakfast was very ample and provided anything and everything a diverse palate would desire. Excellent restaurant as well.

Built at the beginning of XVIII century, it represents the most sumptuous civil baroque building in Cantabria. Restored and turned into a hotel in 2001, it preserves the baroque style of the architecture and the interior design, introducing also modern elements. The superb central staircase, full of charm and legend, is unique in its renacentist style. It provides with restaurant, garden, social lounge, library.
