Outrigger Lae Nani

Location. Adjacent to the Coconut Plantation Marketplace in East Kauai, the Outrigger Lae Nani enjoys a beachside location in Kapaa, Hawaii. Dense rainforests, impenetrable valleys, majestic peaks and perfect golden beaches make Kauai one of Hawaii's most desirable destinations. Dominated by a sense of independence, the island has never fallen victim to the tourist culture that afflicts Oahu and the Big Island. The sights, smells and sounds of the island promote relaxation, with shimmering waterfalls, the scent of ginger and plumeria and morning birdsong all pleasing the senses. Kappa offers plenty of recreational possibilities, including the only freshwater skiing in Hawaii on the Wailua River, which flows into Wailua Bay just one-half mile from the property.

Hotel Features. The outdoor pool overlooks Wailua Bay and is flanked by a sundeck, a well manicured lawn and hammocks shaded by looming palms. An illuminatedtennis court exists toward the rear of the property and there are barbeque grills adjacent the pool. Child care can be arranged and guest laundry facilities are located on site.

Guest Rooms. The one- and two-bedroom accommodations are located in three-story buildings with exterior staircases as opposed to elevators. All units feature private lanais and kitchens with ranges, refrigerators and microwave ovens. Furnishings and décor vary by apartment, but all come with cable television, VCRs, CD stereos and in-room safes.

Expert Tip. Wailua Falls, a nine-mile drive from the property, drop 80-feet into the Wailua River and were featured on the opening credits of the television show Fantasy Island. 2009 Third Night Free
