Trip Type: Family Review 1 of 25Awesome Location Exceptional Service
The concierge went out of his way on various occasions to look up specific information, including a bus schedule to a different city, and which buses had A/C. The only thing that wasn't absolutely stellar, in my opinion, is that the beds were a little firm, for my liking.

Trip Type: Romance Review 2 of 25Great for Copacabana and Ipanema
Hotel was across the street from Copacabana Beach and just a few block from Ipanema Beach. Breakfast was very busy with about a ten minute wait. Arrive early to get a table.

Room to European standard, large enough for a couple. Very good location, fantastic breakfast buffet, very clean hotel.

Trip Type: Romance Review 6 of 25Good option
Overall I am very satisfied with the hotel. Rooms are very comfortable, location is awesome, and the hotel staff has a very good attitude towards guests. The only observation I would like to make is that breakfast, although being reasonable, is the same thing every day, they just don't change any single item from day to day.

Trip Type: Romance Review 7 of 25Great location, still a bit pricey
My boyfriend and I stayed three nights and the location was right across Copacabana Beach and a few minutes from Ipanema Beach. We noticed Ipanema looked cleaner and more crowded, but the hotels were also more expensive. Copacabana was a beautiful beach, not dirty and not as crowded. The hotel room was big enough, air condition worked great, bathroom was a bit small, but clean. We had tiny bugs crawing around the desk and floor, but hotel staff took care of it right away. They left the can of bug spray with us. Don't know if other rooms had the bug problem... One day they forgot one towel so we had to ask for one. Another day they forgot to refill the toilet paper. But every time we notified them, they would act right away. We got complimentary towels to take to the beach which had to be returned when we got back. Although they were small so we ended up buying beach towels anyway (pretty cheap if you can bargain with the venders walking along the beach). The free breakfast was great, always enough food. The rooftop pool was a nice alternative to the sandy beach and had a great view! Staff was very friendly and helpful, they all spoke english. Overall we're happy with our stay, but next time we will definitely book a hotel in Ipanema. I'm sure the extra cost is worth it!

Trip Type: Family Review 10 of 25Rip Off
The hotel charged me 150 extra Reals for having a guest! Then when leaving early the next morning to catch a flight the door man had a cab waiting and charged 70 Reals for the cab ride. When I complained that was not the correct cab fare he argued with me. The cab driver said 20 was for the door man and 50 was for his fare! HORRIBLE!! Money hungry staff and hotel adding to Rio De Janeiros already bad reputation of being a trap for tourists. It's a shame, Rio's such a wonderful place for these people to mess it up for travelers!

Trip Type: With Friends Review 11 of 25Hidden Charges
The hotel was nice, but the one thing that really bothered me was when I was charged for bringing a friend to my room that I met in Rio. No she didn't stay the night, in fact, we were up there for less that an hr and they wanted 150 reals. No other hotel charged me for bringing in a guest. The room was clean and the breakfast was ok, but I wish they had been more upfront about what they charge.

Trip Type: Family Review 12 of 25Great Breakfast, Bad Elevators
The hotel is right on the beach in prime real estate, but the whole neighborhood is kinda seedy, as is most of Rio. The hotel staff was very nice and helpful, but the elevators were incredibly slow and overworked. I had to wait upwards of 5 minutes for the elevator and the stairs were not an option beyond emergencies. The room was small but fine. The best thing about this hotel, beyond the location, was the amazing breakfast, included with the hotel rate. There were tons of fruits and breads offered. One of the best included breakfasts I have ever had. Would recommend if you don't mind small rooms and slow elevators.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 14 of 25ORLA HOTEL
bad: the beds & the room tht i stayed in was small, if you're tall don't get the single bed(s), they're twin size and you're 5'11 & taller your feet will hang off the bed. good: their breakfast is great, very healthy & satisfying. if you need to use the internet DON'T use the hotels' go across the street to the internet cafe. it's free!! but you only have 20mins usage, but it's worth it!! the hotel's location is great. i would definitely stay here again, but i'll get a bigger room w/ a bigger size bed :O)AND, if you have to make a local call DON'T use the hotels' phone, go right outside and use the payhone. dial 9090 & you can make a local call for FREE!! obrigada brasil
