Great Location

We stayed at this hotel during Halloween weekend and loved the location. I have stayed at other hotels in the French Quarter but will definately stay here again over any other option. The customer service at the front desk was very friendly as well as the concierge. Super location to surrounding restaurants and 1.5 blocks from Beal couldn't be better. By the way, best hotel towels I've ever had.

Room entirely too small. Inadequate space in bathroom for cosmetics, etc. Perfume fell in commode because of lack of surface space for "stuff"

Lobby and staff were excellent; however, the room we staying in was entirely too small. I have had more space in a "regular" cruise ship room.

Threadbare

Compared to all the rebuilt hotels in the city this was not a great value. It was more threadbare than charming. Good location near the center of the Quarter but there are other choices nearby. And there should always be complimentary wifi.

Needs Improvement

When we first checked in we were given Room 215. Just outside of this room in the hall was the air intake tube for the heating system. During the night it sounded like a freight train was running through the room. We asked for a different room in the morning and they gave us another room with no questions asked. I got the feeling that no one could stay for long in Room 215 and that requests for a move were common.

Always what we want

We stayed at the Omni Royal Orleans for the weekend, arrived late friday night & left sunday. The hotel was full (wedding) but we did get a non-smoking room. Very clean, don't go here for large rooms. Located in the middle of everything but not too in the middle (not on Burbon ST). We ate at some big name restaurants but our best meal was at the hotel restaurant "The Rib Room". Beautiful restaurant, nice service, good food, jazz brunch. The hotel's rooftop pool & bar is fantastic on a nice day. I sat at the bar and read a book while my wife was at a spa around the corner. Fantastic! We are coming back first part of december, I think that's the best time to be in New Orleans! (Papa Noel)

Good value and great location

Overall our stay was memorable and the hotel is lovely. The rooftop pool is great and the staff is very accomodating. The only issue that I had was that you are charged $6.00 for 15 minutes of internet time. They allow you to print boarding passes for the return flight but that is all. If you wish to check your home or work e-mails, you must give a credit card. I think that is rather cheap on the part of the OMNI management. Most every hotel/motel allows internet access in this day and age. They should get more up to date.
