Omni Hotel Downtown at CNN Center

Outstanding Hotel

I loved it being adjacent to the Convention and CNN Centers! So close I could go to the exhibits, drop off all the stuff in my room instead of carrying it around all day and still get to the next lecture on time. For convention attendees, that's a huge plus! I will definitely stay here again. Also, the coffee store and late night bar were very convenient.

Great for Philips Events

We traveled to Atlanta to attend a concert at Philips Arena, and were so impressed with the Omni. We didn't even have to go outside to get to the show, the Omni and Philips are connected, along with the CNN Center. If you have an event at Philips, it is so worth staying at the Omni. Very clean, great staff, and the valet parking is worth it. Also convenient to the Aquarium and lots of restaurants.

Nice Hotel

We stayed here on a trip to attend an event at Philips Arena. The hotel was very nice and was an easy indoor walk to the CNN food court and the arena. We would definitely use this hotel again.

Location, Location, Location

Just can't beat it for anything at Congress Center or GA Dome. Lots of good eating options at hotel and CNN Center.

Worst Service Ever

The Omni at CNN Center ruined my trip to Atlanta in September of 2009 with terrible service. The hotel notified me three days prior to my arrival that they "would not be able to accommodate" a 3pm check-in (which is their standard check-in time) and that I would be able to check-in at 9pm. The Omni overbooked their hotel and offered me a free breakfast and to store my luggage in exchange for the late check in. So on the day of my arrival, I gave them my luggage and they were to bring the bags to my room when the room became available. However, they lost the bags and I did not receive thm in my room until 2:15am that night. The front desk was rude and not helpful during the time that the bags were lost. I complained to hotel management and received a free night and also free parking for all of the inconvenience, but I did not really see any effort to actually improve their service. I believe that their hotel may be understaffed, and that they have trouble keeping the huge twin tower facility running with efficient service. Also, before you book a room at the Omni, make sure you ask the hotel how much you will be charged for parking--in my opinion the parking is outrageous rate, which is not disclosed until you pull your car up to the door. Or, better yet, do not book a room at the Omni and look elsewhere--that's what I will do in the future.

Perfect for Philips events

Walk from hotel lobby, through CNN to Philips without ever going outside and also avoiding the crowds at Philips. Highly recommend for a Philips event.

Great overall

Hotel was neat and clean and staff was very hospitable. The only complaint was being charged for extras. Parking was mandatory valet at $30 per day, I had no choice in the matter, so why not include it in the room price? Also, wifi access was $10 per day. I felt like with the price I paid for the room, these things should be included.
